If DISCON is cancelled..

I am sure that CC is the onlyone that cananswer this question for you.
However, at this time, we are all figuring that DIS Con Is a GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, I am not sure that plans would be finalized yet for this contingency.

I don't think Dis-Con will be cancelled, it might have to be scaled back a bit. We still have 86 people going, still a nice size group. :)
 
I thought they had to have 200 sign up for it to be a go.
It doesn't look like they are going to make that number with just 4 days to go.
I hope it's a go because I really enjoyed it last year. Airfare and ressies have been set for months!
 

Rest assured that a large number of the 86 people signed up for DIScon 2002 already have airfare and rooms booked for the occasion. Official or not, there WILL be a DIScon 2002.
 
Guys, until told otherwise, let's think positive!! Lets encourage ;)people to register!! Let's do what we can...and just sit and wait for any announcements!!!! The big thing is...lets not give up til we are told to!!!

I haven't yet registered for DisCon. Know what's stopping me? Not knowing the refund policy and timeline.

I am thinking positive - about my finances!

I did not register in July because I wanted to know the full price AND what is included. (That is not being negative, that is being a good consumer). So I patiently waited for details (okay, so maybe not patient EVERY day ;) :p)

While I waited, I committed to going to Disney in December.
I booked my air, hotel and transfers. I have not yet registered. I want to, I want to get my name on the list. But if (and I am being a good consumer again) this event does not occur for WHATEVER reason, I do not know how or when I will receive a refund. My personal way of doing business has a problem with this.

So, I will wait for one of two things to happen. Either the required number of people signed up OR knowing the refund process.

I am so looking forward to being in Disney again with all my fellow Dis'ers. I will be there, official or unofficial. Hopefully enough people will register so that I am comfortable with it being a reality. Until then, I am patiently waiting, positive that this will happen.

Pumbaa...every little bit gets us closer. I would not have put up my money if I didn't hink I would get it back. Believe me I am no different, and my DH would never ever let me live it down. We need everyone who can register to do so, to make this happen. I know you have your opinion, and I do not fault you, but please think about it!!!

I am sure there will be no problem getting a refund of the deposit if the convention doesn't go on - especially for those who paid by credit card.

I totally understand your concerns. I felt exactly the same way. I wish I had the information you are waiting for as well, but I took the plunge and registered anyway last week.

I just want this to happen so much I decided to put my money where my heart is! *laughs* My financial planner would disagree I am sure, but he has never been to DISCON or met the people trying to put this together...!

Just wanted to say thanks for being so honest and voicing some concerns that many of us have. I really respect that.

It will be great to see you again however this all works out!

Sorry guys I should have posted this earlier. CC has said in the past that Pete basically never checks this board, and she does from time to time. If we have specific questions like if canceled about refunds and such we should PM or email CC or Pete. I have simular concerns. I have a enough faith that if DISCon is canceled we would get a refund. I clicked on CC's name and sent her an email this morning with my questions and let het know about a couple of threads like this one. She said if canceled there will be a refund. She also said she is calling Pete today to figure thier options. She also said her work at Dreams has been extremely busy. I would suggest you email either Pete or CC with your questions and concerns. I do not put up $150 deposits lightly either. Shame on me but I have already been thinking how I will change our WDW trip in Dec if DISCon is canceled. We are going either way. I hope to see you all in DEC. I hope this helps some of you to feel better or maybe email Pete or CC to get your answers. Have a great Disney weekend.
