I've been trying to follow all of the various threads on Delta, and I appreciate the answers I was given on those threads.

I decided to post this question seperately, thinking that the answer may help others & it would be easier for others to see.

I know that to get a definite answer, I should call Travelocity, but I can barely talk today & I want to make sure the Rep can understand what I'm saying, so I thought I'd get some input here first before trying to call.

We're booked for Dec. through Travelocity.

The flight was originally non stop & they switched us to a connecting flight.

Is it true that because of that we could have the entire amount we paid refunded with out a penalty?

A lot depends. If you have already accepted the change then no you can't get a refund. You agreed to the deal.

Now normally if you book via Delta you have to call Delta to accept the change. There is a potential here that your TA (Travelocity) accepted it for you. Or if you called DL and requested new seats then basically you accepted it.

No matter what you are going to have to deal with Travelocity. DL probably won't assist you as it's a TA reservation.

Thank you! :)

Originally they only changed the first flight, and we did make a seat request through Travelocity.

But they just got around to changing the return flight over the weekend, and we haven't called for seats yet. I intended to, but haven't because of this sore throat.

I knew we'll have to go through Travelocity, just was wondering if it's even a possibility before I try to call them.

well i think i have been "sucked" into accepting our flight.I logged on to Delta and saw my boys seat assignment was blank so i called Delta and said i need to confirm my boys have seats and he say yeah and gives me my seats i say well it was not posted on the internet.Because they have moved my return flight up by 25 minutes.2 of my tickets were bought with Expedia and 2 were bought from Delta.com but apparently they have changed my return flight by 25 minutes earlier. :rolleyes2

I think the change has to be over 2 hours to get a refund.

Travelocity took care of it - we get a full refund.

Need to find a new flight, but now we don't have to wait to see what happens with Delta.

The new flight they had us on wasn't ideal anyway.

:Pinkbounc I hate to say that is great news but if i was in your shoes i would be thinking it was great news.LOL.Glad to hear you wont have to wait it out and can now book new flights for your family :thumbsup2

We were in the same situation, booked on Delta Song through Travelocity and our return flight was moved up by about 4 hours. We called Travelocity to see if we could get on a return flight closer to our original time, but we ended up on the phone with some woman who was in India and had no idea what we were talking about or was just not willing/able to get us on a different flight. So we just called Delta directly and they were able to get us on a return flight only 1 hour before our original time. Now I'm kind of hoping they change our flight time again so we can get a refund like the OP!

Lucky, lucky, Angel's Momma! I had read that if they bump you can refuse. Can you send some luck my way? I also think you should run out and buy a lotto ticket. Sending you cheap flight vibes.

Sending you (and everyone else booked on Delta) some Pixie Dust! pixiedust:

I've had a miserable sore throat since Sat., but now I'm even glad about that - otherwise I would have called to get new seats when this latest change occured, and that would have prevented a refund.

Ava, the man I spoke to also had a foreign accent, but he was very helpful. It was quite an interesting phone call since I couldn't understand some of what he said, he couldn't always hear me because of my throat, and to top it all off my phone cord decided to go bad tonight, so if I moved the wrong way I couldn't hear anything. It took over 1/2 an hour of being on hold to get it all done, but he even waived the Travelocity fee for me.

We originally booked on Delta because it was nonstop, and nonstops are very rare from MLI. I would have never picked a layover in Atlanta if I was picking a connecting flight, so I'm glad we're getting a chance to start over. Hopefully we'll find a good deal, but my Mom is paying & she doesn't seem to be too concerned about the cost - but she is glad to know that there's no longer a chance that she could lose the $1010 she had paid Delta.
