If checking in late, do you have it noted?

I am going to be checking in after normal check in time. Probably between 8pm-10pm. Do I need to have it noted on my reservation? I asked the cm when I did my ressie, and she said that my room was guaranteed. Does anyone have experience with this?:confused3 I would hate to get there and have no room.

They won't give away your room, so you don't need to worry. That being said, it couldn't hurt to call the hotel and let them know you will be checking in somewhat late.

It can't hurt to make a quick phone call, but keep in mind that you're not a no-show until 6:00 a.m. the following day. If you have a reservation, they'll have a room for you if you arrive before 6:00 a.m.

I usually make a note of it if I am going to be late. It never seems to hurt. Disney will keep the room for you if you have paid everything you are supposed to. I also consider anything after 10:00 PM as being a late arrival.

I called to have them add a note to our reservation last time but the CM said it wasn't necessary as they would keep a room until 6:00 am. This was actually a day before we left so the resort already had our reservation and my call was transferred to whoever answers the phone for the resort. I would still try to add it if the reservation was still with CRO just to be sure.

I don't think I would necessarily worry about noting it on my res., but what I would do if I happened to be using ME was bring my bags on the bus with me. To make sure I had things I needed AND didn't get woken up by a knock on the door late.

1) I would NOT put it on the ressie.
2) During busy times, this could hurt.
. . . rooms are usually assigned 2-4 days ahead of arrival date
. . . but, rooms can be swapped once assigned
. . . earlier in the day, there is a lot of flexibility in swapping rooms
. . . if you are noted as late arrival, others can swap your room
. . . this means you "might" get a worse room location

NOTE: I only note a late arrival if it will be between midnight and 4:00am, since the computers are down and the Front Desk knows to cut the room keys before computers quit.

I appreciate this info - thank you! ;)

Having worked front desk at Disney, I know they do give rooms away or they may give you a room in the worst location or a smoking room.

i was wondering the same thing. we too will be arriving late.

so, the concensus is not to call or to call?

I don't want the sucky room just because it takes 14 hours to get to the hotel. :sad2:

Okay, you guys have me a little worried. We have about a 8-9 hr drive. We will be leaving at 11:30am on April 13th. I figured with stops and all it may be 8:30 or 9:30 when we arrive. I am guaranteed a non smoking room due to myself and dd having asthma. This is my only room concern. I don't care about location. So are you all saying that someone else could be given my non smoking room and I could get stuck in a smoking room just because I got there later? It sounds like if that is the case then it would not matter if I noted it or not.

Okay, so what exactly are you saying? Please help!:)

I have had to check in guests with asthma into smoking rooms because they arrive around midnight, and all of the non-smoking rooms had been given away. We had to send guests to other resorts to accommodate their needs.

My best recommendation- leave earlier in the day if you have a long drive.

I have a question, I will be arriving early on the day of my check in...but I wanted to go to Sea World first.

Will POR let you check in early (say 8:00am) and come back after check in time? If so, will this help me guarantee the bldg and room type that I would like to have?

So if I arrive before midnight I should be ok?

Yes, you can check in early. Your room won't be ready, but you can check in and even leave your bags there. They'll give you a card with a phone number to call to check on the status of your room. Checking in early definitely helps if you want to choose which building you want.
