If booking with cash do you still not pay for extra adults?

My understanding is that if a DVC room is booked with points any additional adults on the reservation don’t pay additional fees. Is it the same if you book with cash? I’m planning a trip with grandparents and I’d like to add my parents to my room to be able to use the pool, but don’t actually want them staying in my room. This would work if I don’t have to pay additional since it’s a week long stay and would add up. Wasn’t sure if I should ask here since I’m not a member, but thought DVC members would know the rules

The last time I looked, they were charging more for adults in a DVC room when booking for cash via WDW. It may be different for a DVC owner who books them through MS on cash...which is not always available.

Oh darn, definitely can’t add them then

Easiest way to know for sure is to go to the WDW website and put in a request for that room with more adults and see if it shows additional charges. They never used to charge but last year, someone mentioned it had changes...

So I already have the room booked, would I modify the reservation and it would show up then if there’s a charge?

There is an additional charge for more than 2 adults over 18 when paying cash, for at least a studio or a 1BR. If you have a 2BR, I do not believe this is the case.

Ok thanks! I have a one bedroom so this will be a no go for us

I tried some one-night searches on disneyworld.com

For a DVC resort, I did a search for 2 people and a search for 4 people.
For the 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom, the price was the same.
But for a studio: for 4 adults, it cost $70 more for 2 adults.

I tried again: different date, different DVC resort, 2 people and 4 people.
Same result.

Then I tried again at the Yacht Club, to see what happens with a non-DVC deluxe resort.
4 adults costs $70 more than 2 adults.

OP, without changing your resie, you might want to go on and do a search with 2 extra adults for your dates and nights and room type, to see what happens.

Definitely not a modify. I was just thinking to try to book any rooms with more adults and see what happens but it sounds like it’s been confirmed they do.

Interesting! I do know the charge is $35 per additional adult.

So I have a one bedroom booked so then I could add them and it wouldn’t change the charge? That would make this so much easier to plan

I'm only reporting on what I saw. OP, you should do a search yourself, going to DisneyWorld.com and plugging in your exact date, resort, type of villa and number of guests.

What if you are staying for 8 days and family is only coming for 1 night. I'm in a 2 br villa, BCV, paying cash. They already have their own annual passes. Can they go to late night at Epcot with us and use the SAB?

Castmembers generally are pretty strict about only letting people into SAB if they are staying at BCV, BC or YC.

Did you go to Disneyworld.com to see what happens if you do a BCV search for your dates for the total number you would have including the extra family members? Did the price go up? If the price is the same, then you should be able to add them to your reservation IF that would not put you over the maximum capacity for the room.

I understand only people staying here can use SAB. We might not even have time to use it while they are here. I don't want to muck up my reservation for them only staying 1 night. I will not go over on capacity so not worried about that. I think I'll just ask for room keys at the desk when they get there. Thank you!
