And, no, my team is not one of the "elite" teams. I hope they get the referee dispute settled before someone's seriously hurt. There's been TWO serious hits on defenseless players that weren't called for unsportsmanlike conduct. The players are going to get away with as much as the officials "let" them.

ME! :wave2:

Please bring back the regular refs before someone is hurt seriously. I couldn't believe there was no penalty flag on the Heyward-Bey hit yesterday. Isn't he still in the hospital today?

He was released on Monday (I realize I'm posting this late and you probably already know but just in case :) ) but we don't expect him on the field for a while yet. I'm with you, I sat there in disbelief that there was no flag thrown on that hit. If the play had been reversed (ie a Raider hitting someone like that) there would have been flags everywhere.....of course not with the replacement officials but with the regular officials. :)

Not defending the Steelers but it was only Mundy who hit Bey illegally. I was sick about it. You could tell Bey was out cold when he hit the grass. Very scary watching the receiver lay motionless for such a long time.

Then Mundy does it again a few plays later to another player and again no call. Thank goodness he didn't get hurt.

I seen a couple late hit calls on Ben , alot of non-holding calls also. I can go on and on. Its been bad and as others have said and seems to be getting worse instead of better.

DBF kept saying he wasn't knocked out, I kept saying "yes he is!" We did see him move slightly but I kept saying it was a twitch reaction and that he was knocked out cold. Finally DBF realized I was right and DHB was out from the contact. I was so nervous.......I was so relieved when he gave the thumbs up, I seriously almost cried.....lol

I saw a lot of missed calls that game on both the Steelers and the Raiders, and I'm nowhere close to being "official" in my knowledge. I love football, I love my Raiders, but I'm nowhere near an expert. I just know that the refs need to come back before someone is seriously injured! That hit on DHB was serious, someone needs to wake up before it gets worse.

::yes::

A letter to Roger Goodell,

Dear Mr. Goodell,

Please, please, please. Stop the madness. Make peace with the umpires' union NOW.

You NEED them. They need you.

Get back to the bargaining table, compromise, and come up with an agreement, OK?

Signed,
Frustrated NFL fans

:thumbsup2

Now people can go back to the way it was, pointing out missed calls and bad calls by the regular refs.

Welcome back to the NFL!

Yup, but it won't be every game, multiple times in every quarter!

I think everybody can live with human mistakes. It was the lack of knowledge of the game from the replacement refs that was so frustrating.

I don't know much about it, but w/ the regular refs aren't the messed up calls corrected quite a bit of the time when they're reviewed? That's what I find so surprising about Monday night's mess.

I've heard a little bit of discussion that many of the blown calls have been in favor of the home team & there is some feeling that there has been extreme hesitation to reverse a call because of the intimidation factor of what the crowd reaction may be. If there's even a scrap of truth to that it may be one of the saddest & scariest parts of the story.

Now I'll never know whether I would have been able to hold on my promise of not watching until the real refs were back. No that I mind...

Have you seen the ticket prices for college games? I'm going to a Panthers/Seahawks game (2 tickets), driving 8 hrs, and spending 3 nights for less than 2 college tickets.

Ducks tickets are $90 for good seats. Seahawks tix are $350 for good seats. Give me Ducks tix any day of the week.

And this is why you have to have a lot of respect for Ed.

The NFL officials will be back at work less than 24 hours after a deal was reached because Hochuli spent the lockout holding conference calls, giving quizzes on game situations, and cutting game film for his fellow referees. The lockout could have gone on for months, but Hochuli and company kept to their mantra: prepare, prepare, prepare.
