just out of curiosity, if we have a use year beginning in december, would december 2056 or 2055 be the last point allotment?

December 2056 would be your last allotment of points. You'd just have to use them up before 1/31/57. I am sure that, if they do not extend memberships at the resorts, you'll see completely full properties in the last year of ownership. Borrowing will be the way to go at that point.

DVC hasn't announce how they will handle this. Given that only 1 UY will have a full year to use their last years point and that there will be more points than rooms for any given resort it's last year of existence, there will have to be some type of rationing that goes on. It might be voluntary or forced or they could just let it be a free for all. I think the most likely is a lottery system or a first come system where those that lose out will not have to pay dues on the unused points. We shall see.
