Crazy paranoid question I know but...
If my luggage gets lost due to the Airlines, can they get it to the Ship???

Well I think that they are required to deliver you your luggage. You might not get it until you hit one of your ports of call. They will not deliver your luggage on a sea day.:)

Our luggage was delayed on the Magic last March. It was delivered to us on the morning we docked at St. Maarten.

DCL was most accomodating to us. They provided basic toiletries and robes, formalwear for formal night, and did our laundry every day. They also arranged for us to have a $300 credit with Delta. Guest Services must have called us 10 times in the first three days to make sure there wasn't anything else they could do for us.

Did you arrange your air travel through DCL? Or on your own?

I can see this if you arranged your air travel through DCL. Otherwise, it would seem generous.

If your airline loses your luggage, please inform Guest Services on board the ship. There is a cast member at the airport this is there specifically to help the airlines find the bags and get them shipped to your next port of call.

Yes, we did.

This may be a stupid question but, How do you know if the airline lost your luggage if you use The Disney Transportation? I was told once you check in your luggage at your departure city you don't see it again until it's in your stateroom. By then it may be too late.

I think there was another poster on here that did an entire 3 or 4 day cruise because their airline lost the luggage and it never did catch up with them.

I hope you can buy stuff on the ship or at one of the port of call!

I'm always worried about this, too. Here's what I do to help my luggage find me (I don't book air with DCL):

Target sells "Scotch" brand Bag tags in their "office supplies" section. They're like self-laminating clear tags. I print up my name/address/phone # on a business card. At the bottom, I add the ship name, dates of trip, and cabin #.

I don't know if it would make a difference, but I sleep better knowing that I did all I could! :sunny:

When we were on the Halloween cuise we met someone on Sunday who the airlines had lost their luggage. They must not have booked through DCL because they were wearing theclothes they boarded with and didn't know when or if they would get their luggage. I gave them my stateroom number in case they wanted to try our stuff but we never heardfrom them again. I hope that means their luggage was delivered.

The airlines didn't lose our luggage, but we did have a luggage mishap.

We cruised in October 2003 on the Magic and decided to stay at the Hilton across from Downtown Disney. We went to MNSSHP the night before, so we didn't get in until about 1am. The next morning, we got up, ate breakfast and headed to Port Canaveral. We got checked in, boarded the ship and headed to lunch at Parrot Cay. While at lunch with a bunch of DISers, we realized that we had left our hanging bag with all of our formalwear in the closet at the Hilton.

DH immediately went down to Guest Services to let them know. The took all of the information and told us that they would do the best that they could. DH was ready to get off the ship and drive back to Orlando to get our bag, because he figured that he would have time before we left. I told him no, and DCL said that they would take care of it. DH went down again about an hour later and they let us know that they talked to Hilton, they had our bag and they would send it to the ship. DCL said that if they didn't get it before we departed, that they would have it sent the next day to Key West.

Well, just as we were leaving for the Sailaway Deck Party, Guest Services said that they had our bag and it would be delivered right away.

This one act made our entire vacation. We are hooked on DCL and think that they went above and beyond to take care of us.
