Anyone do ABD Peru in December?

Peru has been on "our list" for some time now. I see they have 2 December departures that work so well with school and work breaks. Of course, a main draw of Peru is Machu Picchu. Been doing a bunch of research and seems end of December is full into the rainy season. Can't imagine going all that way and not actually seeing MP because of fog and rain. Would love to here if anyone has taken this trip in December and their thoughts. The Christmas week one is sold out but one over New Year's is still available. Any input is greatly appreciated!

You might ask over on the Peru TripAdvisor forum. You'll find a lot more people who may have been/have lived there in December. We went in May, so I can't help.

I did the NY trip with my kiddos in December, 2019. We didn’t have any issues with rain — the trip was amazing, highly recommend!

Thanks so much! Great to hear re no rain. I think the photos you posted are representative of what I have been seeing for Dec trips - cloudy so was not sure re rain. The ones from people going now are pure sun and know rainy season starts in Nov so trying to figure it all out. We live in FL at sea level - any issues with the altitude?
