I was thinking to myself if a Tim Hortons ever opened up at the Canadian pavilion in Epcot, what unfiorms would the Cast Members wear? Would it be the Canadian uniforms that they wear in the Canadian pavilion store, or the standard Tim Hortons uniforms which their employees wear at each location?

That is rather funny. On our recent trip my DH and father both said "we should look into opening a Timmies at the Canadian Pavillion". I use to work for TDL so I came home and emailed my good friend who's the assistant to the Vice President of TDL Atlantic Division which happens to be where I live. She then emailed Oakville about the process we have to go through to look into it but she thinks we'd have to write Epcot first. Needless to say we're still waiting to hear back.

Back on topic, as far as uniforms go, I'm thinking they'd have their traditional uniforms but they jazz them up to reflect Canada more yet keep in line with the rest of the Canadian Pavillion.

Hmm.
They could keep the wonderful bun, hairnet and visor, with the Tim's logo. But, I'd say keep the EPCOT uniform.

This would be the best idea EVER.

It's been much discussed on these boards. Would I pay 6$ for an iced coffee or a double double in Epcot?

YES!

Expect for their locations in Buffalo and some in Michigian and Ohio, how many Americans and guests from other countries know that they would be ordering a large triple triple as an example. As Canadians we know the Tim Hortons lingo, so would the rest of the world catch on?

Also when my Dad was in Buffalo for meetings he went to a Tim Hortons there and told me something very intresting. If you order a small coffee they give it to you in a medium cup and it's the same if you order a medium they give you in a larage cup and if you order a large they give an extra large cup. So that must be a United States thing because they don't do it like that in Canada. So do you think it would be the same way if one ever opened up in WDW?

What an excellent idea. We have relatives in Canada so my parents go most years and always either bring home or post home several cans of ground coffee. Love Tim Hortons.

I would think that they would be in the normal lumberjack costume , trapper bobs they didnt have anything diffrent did they?
Ooooh if they had one there I could see DH making us all go there everymorning before any other park.. He loves it:love:

Yes! If they can have Canadian chocolate bars, like Smarties, there and charge $2.50 a box, Tim's would do very well! I suggested to dh when we were there last eyar that we get a franchise on I-Drive. I, atcually, think there are enough Canadians at Disney to make it fly.

And I vote for the traditional Timmy's uniforms. I hated the faux lumberjack outfits they made the Canadians wear, especially those poor girls!

I am sure it would still bve the standard CDN pavilion uniform.

On a side note I like your sig but CRV is now rumoured to be the Magic Kingdom suites and all suites tower for the CR. So as of now ther eis no official word on either being a reality LOL.

Funny you mention this when we stop south of Dayton at the Timmies just off I-75 and go in and order a large double double they always say you must be Canadian. This is a corporate store so all teh employees train in Canada so they get used to the lingo and know us from the others just by our ordering habits. Also you are correct the sized in the US are Med CDN=small in the US and the large in the US is our Xlarge.

Yes I agree with CR Resort Fan...on the size of cups....allow me to be the lone dissenter and say that I am continually surprised at the popularity of Tim Horton's coffee in Canada - (I'm completely addicted to Dunkin Donuts coffee - all over the place in the Northeast - and wish they DD would come to Canada..

Here's why...

a) the flavor rules - DD coffee is legendary in the US (you have the Starbucks camp of course - which is a separate breed - but when it comes to more "usual" coffee....I would doubt that the majority of people would pick tims over DD...I was actually very eager to try tims coffee on trips to Canada but it really falls short of DD imho....I encourage all Cdns to try DD when travelling in the US - try it and see for yourself

b) added frustration at Tim's - (your point CR Resort) - the SMALL CUPS!! I usually get XL at DD (24 oz) and what a shocker to see the puny size of XL in Canada!

c) the lids at TH - HORRIBLE - they don't rip off easily with modern technology - its always a messy ordeal that could leave one to cut their tongue (exaggerating - but you know what i mean)....the lids at tims remind me of 1970s standards lids here in the US

d) the hot chocolate - very thin and watery at Tim's - DD hot chocolate is pure heavenly bliss ....in-line with the higher coffee quality/taste imho

I know this note will be considered heresy in Canada - but just wanted to throw it out there...

Ahhhh, we listen every time, js, and we never give you grief, do we? You're entitled to your opinion and we welcome you sharing it again. ;)

I don't drink coffee, so I have no opinions on that at all. The hot chocolate IS watery. I'll have to remember to try DD sometime when I am in the States. And, since I got burned this week driving and opening the lid on my green tea. . .

My opinion, if you put a Tim's in WDW, Canadians would flock to it...just to have a slice of home while we are at our "happy place". :woohoo:

yeah... it would be nice to have my timmies while walking around the world.
I did hear rumour (yes rumour) that WDW was seeking some Cdn. sponsorship for upgrades to our pavilion. Tim Horton's would fit the mould very well.

As for the uniforms, I would like to see them be a version of the late Tim Horton's Maple Leaf hockey jersey. Guest from around the world would experience a little Hockey, taste some awesome Coffee and maybe find out why we Canadians flock to a coffee and donut shop that bears a former NHL'er.
Then again, those same tourist might go back to their homelands thinking all Canadians wear hockey jerseys to work! hehe

Go Vancouver!
Go Ottawa!
Go Calgary!

- I need to see Lord Stanley's Cup on home turf!!!

I am from Buffalo and this thread caught my eye. If they opened a Tim's at Epcot.....I would camp out there!

A nice iced cap while wandering World Showcase in the heat of September. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. :cloud9:

We are in the process of becoming DVC members. One thing we will be packing is a tin of Tim Horton's coffee to brew fresh coffee in our room every morning.

The Nescafe coffee at the resorts is terrible.

As a Timmies lover (I even have a Timmies shirt that says give me my Timmies and no one gets hurt) LOL I would love a Timmies anywhere in Orlando. Now I haven't tried DD but it would feel like going to Universal, total betrayal:rotfl: I really haven't had a good cup of coffee at WDW, so I would welcome a Timmies. I love the jersey idea, they could all wear different Canadian Team jerseys. However, isn't there McDonalds in Epcot, and isn't Timmies now owned by Wendys so I wonder if it would ever fly??? Dare to dream. :surfweb:

To be honest I would prefer a Timothies at Epcot to a Timmies or even a Second Cup gotta have me a Caramel Coretto LOL.

How about a new attractrion at Ecpot called COFFEELAND where many different coffee houses are located. There would be a Tim Horton's, a Dunkin Donuts, Timothies, Starbucks, Country Style, and more. :)

I heard that they tried to open one up there but Nestle has the coffee monopoly and wouldn't allow it.

Yes a nice iced cappucino would be so nice there.

If we ever won our millions, we've talked about opening a Timmies in the Lake Buena Vista area:hug:
