I asked my oldest son to make some banana bread with the old bananas we have laying around. I am at work,. he is home making dinner and baking. BTW he is 13 and a star scout with a cooking merit badge, so he is quite capable around the kitchen. He had all of the ingredients and was prgressing nicely. DS#2 comes home, pours himself a glass of milk or 3 , DS#1 is not watching this and when he goes to the frig - DS#2 has finished the last gallon....

So we can wait for MOM to get home at 6:15 or he could use melted vanilla ice cream for the milk...

what do you think???

I would try the ice cream. Not having done this myself so I can't vouch for it, but I would dilute the ice cream with some water.

I always make banana bread, but never used vanilla ice cream. Instead of milk, the closest thing that I would use would be evaportaed milk.

any powdered milk in the house?

You might want to cut back on the required sugar if you do use ice cream

I don't have any powdered or evaporate milk... and so i guess I will tell him to dilute the ice cream with water..'cause he has already put the sugar in. the bowl...

I'll let you know how it turns out...

I'd cut out some of the sugar and add a little water, but I bet it'll turn out FANTASTIC. All the fats will keep it nice and moist.
