If there's enough, then I'll divvy it up and offer a piece to each unexpected guest.

But, if there isn't enough, then I'll put the cake in the freezer for later and order a couple pizzas and a large bag of Reese’s Pieces instead. It's rude to eat in front of your guests, if you don't have enough for everyone.

One time I was offered a seasoned cake. Awful! E.T and I were totally unable to eat it. I spit it back out on my plate. Then we had to find an out of the way trash bin in our host's house to dump our plates in, discretely, so no one would think us rude.

Whenever I bake a cake, I just make plain cake and put icing and other toppings on the side bar, for people to add on their own.

If he doesn't, we Southern girls would be forced to send someone out to purchase his dessert of choice. Just to be safe, you should probably research ET's dessert choices in advance & inquire about any sensitivities. That's what a proper host(ess) would do.
