IE keeps not responding

I have IE 5.5......and it is constantly freezing and when I hit control/alt/delete.......it says not responding....then I end task and go into it again. Sometimes it works and other times I have to totally restart my computer. Normally, I have to restart....and this happens....at least 15 times aday....if not more.

I used to have IE 6 and ended up uninstalling it cause I thought that was the problem.....but it is still doing it.........any ideas????

you know......i did a scan disk earlier....haven't did that in a while and it hasn't locked up since............maybe that was the problem.......when it was done it did say that it found errors on the drive and repaired them............

Let us know if you have any other re-occuring problems. Can't promise that we can fix them, but we can always try.

Worse comes to worse, we can give you instructions on how to throw it off of the roof.

JC, throwing them in a lake and watching them linger on the surface until the case fills with water and then drop out of sight has a particular satisfaction associated with it as well. I haven't ever done that, but the image is clear in my mind and quite pleasing at certain times during reboots.

What I really want to do is:

1) Place one of the vile units on top of a nice shopping cart
2) Push said shopping cart at top speed with a car (80 mph or so)
3) Stop just short of a big cement wall
4) Enjoy
