Identification for Cruise with a Name Change Involved

Hello - cruising for the first time on Aug 12. I have been reading about the cruise for about a year now, but nothing I've seen has covered this situation yet.

We were married on June 19th and my wife has changed her last name. We have all of the paperwork in and she will have a new SS card, new drivers licence, but the name on her passport will be her maiden name (no time to update and get a new passport). If we bring a copy of the marriage licence, her new driver's licence and SS card, will we encounter any difficulties because the last name on the passport doesn't match?

I don't think you will have any problems. My birth certificate of course has my maiden name, but my D.L. has my married name. I didn't bring my marriage certificate.

(my problem, as you can tell from my tag from the fairies, was that on my first cruise my birth certificate was actually a hospital certificate and not official ID. They did let me on though, thankfully)

I don't think you will have a problem. My DH was adopted by his step father so his Birth Cert. had his name that he was born with but his DL had his adopted name. We brought his adoption papers with us but no one questioned it. I agree with ADisneygirl, give DCL a call and they can tell you for sure.

They are in our married names - for example:

Mr. E. Thevolcanogod
Mrs. H. Thevolcanogod

For our last cruise, our names on our passports did not match the names on our driver's licenses and our reservations because we had just legally changed our names. We brought our driver's licenses, our passports, and a certified copy of the court order -- in the end, no one paid much attention, and they just looked at our passports.
