Ideas?

My 11 yo DD wants a sleep over for her 12th birthday. My immediate thought was to have a scrapebook party and my DD jumped up and down with excitement. But now I'm wondering how I'll do this? Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? (I will probably limit the party to 3 or 4 girls plus DD.)

Right now, my Target has small scrapbooks in their $1 spot, I would suggest going there and grabbing some, they also have some scrapbooking stuff there as well

I did scrapping as an activity with DS's Beaver group (NEVER again! 20+ boys aged 6-8 ) but 3 or 4 older girls should be manageable. I would say have as much as possible prepared to stop any arguing over tools which can lead to breakages of tools (and fingers) and wasting of stash.

I had some special offer papers which I cut into strips (some straight, some wavy) which they could adhere, or else punch shapes out of. I also downloaded some Beaver and Scout symbols off the internet and printed them out onto cardstock, cut them out and put a photo split on the back so they all had "stickers" they could use, but if you're not going for a specific theme then $ stickers ould work well. As there are fewer you will have time to show them how the adhesives work, or else use glue pens (the boys had huge priblems with tape runner, and even the photo splits as none of the helpers knew anything out them either). I gave my group just a page to complete (as we only had 40 mins) but the idea of a $ album is good - and removes the need for party bags

Make sure they know food and drink is not allowed at the scrapping table, and that their mums know not to give them any irreplaceable photos If you have a digital camera and a printer you could take pics of them scrapping and then they could scrap them as well!

I bought those target albums for my daughters last birthday party. There were 4 8 year olds. I took pictures of them all together and then let them use my camera, with strict instructions to be very careful! for a while to take pictures of each other. then I printed about 6-7 pictures for each girl. I put out decorative scissors, plain and patterned papers, markers, and stickers. I also showed them how to use th photo splits and put out acid free glue sticks. They had fun and enjoyed it.

DD7 party was very similar. I was able to get 8x8 albums on clearance for $2.99. I asked the girls to bring 4 -6 photos with them and we also took photos at the party. They all enjoyed it.

Thanks for the ideas. I hadn't thought of taking pics of them and letting them scrape them. I have a Cricut so I was thinking of making some things ahead of time and then letting them do their names or other simple cutting.

Great suggestion on NO food at the table. Never too young to teach them the right way.
