Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone has any neat ideas to entertain a very active 5 year old on our plane ride to Florida? I figured colouring etc-any other ideas?

Thanks

My 5 yr old DS loves his Gameboy. Worked like a charm back in January. Also sticker and colouring books.

I have learned not to take alot of things for them to do onboard. They are are generally too excited to concentrate on any activity for a length of time. Just having their stuffed buddy kept them busy and try a travel size magna doodle.

Good Luck

is to have a few "new" toys, colouring books, etc. that they've never seen before. Also books to read and maybe a simple travel board game like snakes and ladders or a card game like go fish?

Westjet has the tvs on most of their planes now-that is awesome.
My DS7 played game-boy, did a puzzle book, read, slept, ate, looked out the window, and mostly watched tv.

I made up goodie bags for my kids and did not let them open them until we got on the plane, they had an electronic connect four, coloring books, sticker books, a snack.. you name it their bags had it, oh and a deck of cards to play go fish with. Really kept them busy for the 2.5 hours.
hope this helps!

Portable DVD player..and a new movie;)

Although we don't have one, lots won't travel without it for their little ones.

The ride down isn't so bad for our two - it's the trip home! No one ever wants to leave. So we do the new WDW guide on the way down, and I keep the new Gameboy games for the ride home.

Have fun!

pipe cleaners from the Dollar Store.

Shape, reshape, fiddle, play with for hours.

We don't go anywhere without them!

Cold medicine!!! LOL!! Can you tell I don't have kids?

I was going to say Gravol!!! Same effect. I DO have kids. :rotfl2:

We do the pipe cleaner thing too...add some beads and you have hours of fun! I also buy a couple of new things from Dollarama. If things get really figgity...a trip to the restroom does wonders. Everyone gets to stretch their legs, wash up and have a brief change of scenery. S

get one of the out-of-date Passporters for $1 and let them plan where they're going, choose their favourite things etc. Our DS(5) liked looking at the park maps and deciding what he would go on first. Once the films came on he watched Spongebob Squarepants movie 4 times - be thankful you only have 3 hours to fill :rotfl:
