Ideas/rumors about Jan, Feb, March Promotions???

But if it's a room only reservation you have until closer to your check in date, don't you? Also, to the OP, just because you have a room reservation (or even a package), that's no guarantee you can apply the discount to that particular room or resort. Sometimes an entire resort isn't included in the discount. And there are only a certain number of rooms available at the discounted price. I just don't want you to be disappointed. More than likely, it will work out, but there's always the possibility that it won't. Maybe someone else can say it better.

I thought you had more time to cancel/change a room only ressie too. If you call as soon as you hear about the deal, that will help. Look at Mousesavers to see when offers have historically been announced. Also sign up for their newsletter if you haven't yet; that's how I found out last time. Keep an eye on the Disney specials page near the historical dates.

This is great advice. I highly advise against booking a specific room/resort based on hopes of a discount. Book what you want and want to pay for at current price. If a discount comes out- bonus! Or be willing to change resorts and or room categories.
This past May when FD was first released, folks were up in arms when POFQ was completely left off of FD. Many had booked rooms in hopes of the discount and were disappointed.

Room only reservations can be modified or canceled with no ($0) penalty on the 6th day prior to the check in date. (The rule says 5 days, so not 100% sure if that means 5th day prior or 6th; I always say 6th to be sure.)

If you booked a package, then its the 45 day rule. (Package means room plus dining and/or tickets.) Within 45 days there's a fee but often waived if you are increasing the total package price.

HTH! I change my resort reservations ALOT, so try to know these rules!

We're going Feb 11-16 for a convention at CSR. We currently have a convention rate, but no tickets yet. Would love to get a discount for a package including the dining plan. Just need to see how the numbers play out.

Spoke with a Disney rep and they said discounts/promotions will be released 3-4 months prior. So I would check back end of October and so on. :woohoo:

We just booked a flight for February, but have yet to book with Disney. Hoping on S/P/D..

DD who is in MN has her round trip February flight booked, as well. I just have a one way ticket down booked. We are waiting on a room only discount to be announced. Fingers crossed for new special offers.

Don't wait until the end of October to start checking for discounts. Historically, they've been offered earlier in the month than that. As PP's have mentioned, mousesavers has all of the historical discount dates in its site.

Any deal is better than no deal, so I'm eagerly awaiting whatever they have to offer! My mom is footing the bill and she doesn't know to look (everything has been done in my name so far), so I am going to be making sure we get whatever we can to cut her cost down. :)

Last year, it looks like the promo for stay, play and dine were for only select dates in January and February. How does that work? Is your entire stay discounted or only on the specific days for the promo? Just hoping there actually IS a discount for January!!

Got it. Thank you! :dance3:

I'm not an expert, but no one has responded so I'll tell you how I think it works. I believe you get the discount for your entire stay if the day you check in is included in the discount. In other words, if the discount is for January 5-29 and you check in on January 4, you would not qualify and would have to do a split stay. Likewise, if you check in on January 29 you would get the discount for the entire stay even if that's the only day included.

Sorry guys. I have my email settings at non-planning-a-trip mode aka once a week. Have to change that. Yes, eeyoreland, you are exactly correct. You can even still use a discount if your check-out date extends past the last date of the discount as long as you check-in within those discounted dates.

popcorn::Bumping again... it is getting close to the end of the current promo... anyone hear anything???popcorn::

Anxiously waiting! :) I am pretty sure we might see about moving up to a moderate if it's a RO discount (we're booked at AoA LM right now and apparently they exlude that one usually), because it would be a great way to experience a moderate at almost the same price we're going to be paying without a discount.
