Ideas on surprising my son

How did you surprise your kids?
So, my DS was in Disney world on his birthday last year and the week after his birthday the year before that. My poor baby has been telling me all he wants to do in Disney for his 6th birthday I had no intention of this but we are going the next month in October on his fall break. Since we are not in Disney for his birthday, I figured I could surprise him on his bday. I was thinking a big box with some birthday balloons and a chain countdown with a note attached? I don't know I just wondering what others have done to surprise their kids??

We are surprising our daughter on her 6th birthday with a packed suitcase of handmade Disney outfits, a water bottle, decorated MagicBands, etc.... We are leaving 10 days after her birthday and still plan on getting her a birthday button and doing a special character dinner and breakfast while we are there.

I think your idea is great. You can do the others -- cake, scavenger hunt, etc., but yours is good. Plus it makes the trip a bday present too.
