One of the kids incur group will be turning 6 while at Disney for his first time... Actually it is the last day of our trip...

Any ideas?

Birthday pin is a must. I would do a character meal and make certain that the reservation includes the birthday notation.

You could do Pirates and Pals if funds were available. If not, he will have a great time and cast members will go out of their way to make it special. If a cast member asks him to come to the phone, let him. There will be a special surprise on the line for him.

I don't have any advice, because it's our first time, too, but my son will spend his birthday at WDW, too! I'm so excited :)

I did put a call in to make sure his birthday is notated on our dinner reservations and someone suggested he wear his pin all week since we will be celebrating him the whole week :)

We have food allergies, so I will get him a cake from Babycakes NYC, but if you want to order a cake, make sure you get the order in early.

Probably a dumb question, but where do you get the Birthday pins?
Thanks!

If you're staying on-site, you can get one from the CM when you check in. Otherwise, you can get one from Guest Relations at any park.

You can get a ready-made cake at any of the restaurants, or if you want to splurge, you can have a specialty cake made and delivered either to your room or to the birthday dinner. There's a long thread on the Restaurants Board here with the numbers to call, pictures of cakes that people have had made and their approximate cost. I had one done for my sister's 50th back in February and she was surprised and delighted (and it was delicious).

Hit local Disney store or online pick up some extra goodies that can be left for your DS from his favorite character leave a little extra something - it can be welcoming or Bday. also make helps the budget so you are not paying full park price.... Plush pack well, Tshirts ,
