Hi all! We have finally booked a return visit to WDW for next July and will be staying at Old Key West for two weeks. No doubt I will have lots of planning questions nearer the time but at the moment I am trying to figure out the best way possible to tell my daughters we are going back. We have decided on telling them on Christmas Day (hopefully I can last that long!) and would like to put together a little cryptic trail of clues without giving too much away too soon. The girls will be 17 and 11 so the whole trip will have a different dynamic this time around but I would like to keep as much magic as possible right from the start✨

Any ideas will be gratefully received

We did a Christmas Day reveal when we went to DLP. My girls were a lot younger than yours and it fell a bit flat as they were swamped by the excitement of the day anyway, lol.

We wrapped a huge helium Disney balloon in a box and wrapped it up like another gift. When the box was opened, the balloon floated up and we had attached a personal invitation to the girls to go to DLP.

How about one of those advent calendars that you fill will things yourself? That way they can open box or flap a day and be given different clues and hints.

For example you could go pretty abstract and put in a picture of Madonna (the singer rather than the Virgin Mary!) as she sang the song "Holiday". You could put in american sweets, or you could do things related to Disney films or songs.

Hi I have just ordered 2 certificates for my girls for our may trip which say their names and to say they are going to disneyworld. Someone off FB advised me and put some pics on. Just contact disney store uk and tell them you want a suprise. Apparently they come addressed to the girls in a box with stickers and leaflets. Im still awaiting confirmation but as far as I know its free. My boyfriends daughter has never even been on a plane but we are keeping it secret till we get to the airport. We plan to get round the luggage thing by saying we are taking her to see disney on ice and birthday shopping as its also her birthday. 197 days and counting

Thankyou so much, I'll email disneystore UK, they've helped out in the past with lost Disney belongings so I guess it's worth a go. I am thinking of a surprise box full of clues and this would fit in really well. I am also thinking of autograph books and pens and maybe a couple of pins. I'm loving the Madonnas idea, may stick this on the top!

I made my DS (15) a golden ticket on Word. On the front page was a picture of a golden ticket with his name on, then each page in the booklet had details of our trip. So the first page showed the date and picture of VA UC then the next page had the Hyatt hotel on it and then the next page had another plane on it as we were flying to Mimi for a cruise and so on. It was a pretty special holiday due to flying out in UC and coming back in club, taking a cruise and staying at Disney, it was my 50th and our Silver wedding too. I purchased a golden envelope to put it it in from eBay. He was made up with it and actually gave me a hug, something he hasn't done for a long time.

This time so far I have managed to keep our plans secret for next year, and I am going to wrap up his old pal mickey and his Mickey ears with a suitable message along the lines of I'll be seeing you in August, make sure you bring your ears. He'll be 16 when we go.

I was going to string him along until we go, but he loves joining in the planning so much I think Christmas will be better.
