I made a valance for my kitchen window and a tabel skirt for my Christmas village and I have exactly one yard of fabric left. It is light blue with snowflakes and little snowmen in a random pattern.

Any ideas for what to do with it?:scratchin

about a basket and lay the cloth in it........I have done that with an odd napkin???

Use it to wrap a gift like a bottle of wine with a really nice bow.

little sachets? I had some fabric leftover from my window treatments (it was red toile) and DD and I made little rectangular sachets that were in three graduated sizes. We stuffed them with lavender, stacked them, tied them with a pretty ribbon and gave them to the grandmothers for Mother's day...

Great ideas! Thanks, everybody!

I decoupage fabric onto clear glass plates/platters.

Buy glass plate/platter

Cut fabric to plate size with an extra inch in diameter all the way around.

Using modge podge- cover the wrong side of the fabric - flip and cover the right side. place the modge podged fabric onto the underside of the glass plate so the right side of the fabric will show through the bottom of the plate. Smooth out to get all of the wrinkles/bubbles out. Place plate onto a mug or toilet paper roll to dry completely.

When the plate is completely dry (24-48 hours later) trim the excess fabric off using a straight razor. Sand the excess modge podge off the fabric using a fine grit sand paper. Once sanded and the dust is brushed off, cover the bottom of the plate with water based polyurethane. Let dry and once dried, sand again with the fine grit sandpaper. Repeat 3 more times.

For the 5th coat of polyurethane - once dried use an extra fine grit sandpaper to sand (the sandpaper is black). Repeat for 2 more coats. Then poly one last time

You should have 8 coats of Poly with 7 sandings (4 fine & 3 extra fine)

Plate must be hand washed and should not be left in a damp/wet sink (as the poly is water based) but it holds up beautifully otherwise and the finish looks like glass.
