Ideas for travel channel shows

Disney Rumors and News has a thread about a new Samantha Brown show on WDW. In the midst of the posts there were some comments by people about the Travel Channel and how they felt it did not show enough actual "travel shows". The sentiment was that there are too many food shows and in the past shows about poker. I am not looking to debate as to whether or not that is true, but I would like to hear some ideas for some shows that would be more travel oriented.

I will start the ball rolling.
As a certified scuba diver, I would love a show that takes us to a different dive location every episode. The show can give a brief review of land based activities available and hotels/resorts and then "dive into" the various dive sites available at all levels of experience as well as dive shops in the area. Non divers may not realize it, but there are thousands of dive sites around the world, so the show could run for quite some time if successful.

So many of the shows are so obviously 'paid for infomercials' that I don't even bother taking their advice. What I WOULD watch might be a show about real families exploring real cities. I know this wouldn't be as lucrative for the channel but I'd watch.

I love that idea! They could focus on "family friendly" activities! And they could get the prospective of the of kids as well. Thanks for sharing LuvOrlando!

I swear, the only shows these days are Ghost Adventures and Man vs. Food. I would love to see a series on family travel. But no more Disney shows. I'd like to see Europe Dvořák camilies or the best resorts.

I'd love to see some shows about our National Parks. Yes, they've done Grand Canyon and Yellowstone, but how about some of the other parks - Shenandoah Naitonal Park/Skyline Drive, Mt. Rushmore, Acadia, etc?

Or maybe do a "weekend drive" type of show - pick a city, and then head out for a weekend and show what there is to do for a 3- or 4-day weekend trip from that city.
