DH and I decided to take our chances with purchasing Halloween Party tickets for 10/7-10/10. (we were informed that we didn't qualify for the AP discount until our AP's were activated in the park) I've just checked the calendar and all the Halloween parties are sold out on the days we will be visiting.

Does anyone have any ideas for what to do after the parks close? I have two boys, ages 4 and 9.

Thanks! :)

We plan to go to CA adventure until they close (an extra hour) then go back to the hotel and swim if its warm enough. We can see if fireworks from our hotel room so we are planning on watching them as well. If you stay around downtown Disney you can see the firework show. Not sure what area but you can find that info somewhere on here.

Same thing happened to us as well! I think as a previous poster said, go to DCA or shop and eat at Downtown Disney. It hasn't been cold so you can always go swimming at your hotel pool. One of the Halloween party days, we will not go to DL at all. Instead we're heading over to Universal Studios since we've never been.

Our first day at DL/DCA is a MHP night so we plan to be at park open, stay all day, and get on a ride up until the last minute they will allow us to (I'm assuming right up til 6). Then for the first time ever for us I made ADR so we are going to Storytellers at 7. I figure after that we can go to DTD for some shopping then off to bed at a somewhat reasonable hour. Sounds like a pretty full day of Disney fun to me.

We were just there from opening to almost closing, no Halloween Party. We went to Ridemakerz in Downtown Disney near Build-A-Bear and built an RC car. My son (age 4) loved it. Not cheap but lots of fun. Got back to hotel around 8, which worked out well for a normal bedtime.

DS and I decided that Trader Sam's is our non-park favorite location.

Just back from DLR, one night at the Halloween party (Tuesday) and one night not (Friday).

Fireworks can easily be seen from the middle of the concourse between DLR and DCA. Sit in front of the large blue temporary structure in the middle of the concourse (just behind the ticket booths). Looks cool watching the Fireworks. Unfortunately you cannot hear all the music or see the show that goes on during the show.

DCA was CROWDED as soon as DLR closed to all but the partyers, so be prepared for a huge wave of people moving across between the parks.

Catch a seat at the World of Color show, it is a nice one to watch

It was smoking hot all week, and well over 100 the past 2, dress cool... very cool.

We were there Friday for the party. That heat was tough! And we live in Las Vegas. I knew what the weather would be and figured we could handle it but we had a hard time. 100 is Anaheim feels much hotter than Vegas 100. Two of my daughters became ill from the heat, one of them nearly fainted. Lots of folks having a hard time and a few medical emergencies due to the heat. Everyone stay cool!!

It might be fun to go see a movie at the AMC in DtD, especially if the weather is hot (ah, the joys of a/c!). The OP also might like taking her boys bowling at GardenWalk. ESPN Zone might be fun -- the boys might like playing arcade games upstairs (again, a/c!)

Those are wonderful ideas! Thank you all!
