I have seen several posts in the past about people renewing their wedding vows at Disney World. My DH and I will be celebrating our 12th anniversary during our next trip and thought it would be nice to renew ours. We are traveling with our two boys and do not really want to spend a lot of extra money. I was wondering if anyone would share their experience or ideas and help us make this trip more special. Thanks in advance, Melissa

If you are not looking to spend a lot of money, than doing it through Disney Fairy Tale Weddings might not be what you're looking for. If you checked out the DisneyWeddings website under vow renewals, it would probably have information to help. From my understanding, there are minimum expenditures for vow renewals (and weddigs) at Disney. On weekends and holidays, the minimum expenditure can be as much as $10,000.

Maybe you would like to look into a Wishes or IllumiNation dessert cruise? Possibly inquire if you can have champagne served.

The Grand Floridian bakery does an incredible job with their cakes. By contacting them, they might be able to reproduce a top layer of cake similar to the one you had on your wedding day. Or, maybe yuo had another design in mind.

The Leu Gardens in Orlando are beautiful from everything I have heard here. Perhpas looking there as an alternative. Additionally, people have had nothing but nice things to say about working with JustMarry.com for the Swan and Dolphin weddings. You might find what you're looking for there as far as a ceremony, but not the Disney restrcitions and expenditure.

Book a special dinner for the two of you on your wedding anniversary. I have heard people mention the chef's (please correct me if I am wrong!) table at Victoria and Albert's (GF). Narcossee's (GF), Citricos (GF), California Grill (CR), Yachtsman Steakhouse (YC), Shula's Steakhouse (Swan or Dolphin), Le Cellier (Canada), Chefs de France (France), Alfredo di Roma's (Italy), or Brown Derby (MGM) all come to mind as possibilities You could book for just a romantic evening for two, or bring the whole family.

Good luck!
xoxo

An intimate vow renewal will cost you much less than a custom one. I'm not sure what the exact costs for 2006 are, perhaps one of the intimate brides can tell you?

With an intimate vow renewal, you'll have a ceremony as well as a cake cutting and champagne toast.

If you are looking for something even cheaper (an intimate Vow renewal will still cost a couple thousand dollars) I would book a special dinner at your favorite WDW restuarant and see if one of the bakeries on property (GF, Boardwalk, or Yacht Club) could create a recreation of the top layer of your wedding cake. If you send them a picture, they should be able to do it. I'm not sure what the cost would be, but this would be a cheaper option and you could still do a cake cutting.

The basic intimate wedding/vow renewal package cost is $2,450.00 for 2006. That includes the ceremony site, your bouquet, a violinist, cake and champagne toast and 4 hours of limousine service. disneyweddings.com gives more info about the elements included in the intimate vow renewals and about extras you can add on. Hope this helps and Congratulations on 12 Years!!!

We renewed our vows on our 20th anniversary. We had the ceremony at Leu Gardens and the reception breakfast at Ohanas. I think the whole thing cost us 1500 or less. I know the package at Leu Gardens was 1000 and that was for the rental of the Gazebo, the pastor, the flowers, the limo, and photographer. It was a wonderful experience and I would deal with them again in a heartbeat. I will try to find the link I used to contact the pastor who set up the package.

Found the link. The pastor is Rev Tim and he is awesome. I contacted him and he was the one that sent me the price list for the renewal.
