Ideas for pre- pirates and pals cruise time

We are going to do this as a family to see the fireworks, and I'm wondering what we should do before we set sail from CR. Probably dinner, but where? I'm thinking we'll leave the park and take transport to CR, but then we will have to go back to a park to get to our resort, right?

We love the Pirates and Pals Cruise! We've done it twice, and both times were on our MK day. We left the park and took the monorail to the Poly for our dinner reservation at Kona Cafe. Then we hopped back on the monorail to the CR.

One year, we went back to MK after the cruise for EMH.

We're doing the cruise on a MK day. Originally the cruise was earlier in the evening when we made the reservation, but the time recently was switched to 8:45. We are having a MK day, and may actually hop over to Epcot to World Showcase for dinner before heading to the contemporary.

We did dinner at Chef Mickey and then spent time in the arcade for about an hour and shopped at the 2 gift shops. We also did caricature drawings done of the kids but I'm not sure if that was the same night or not. We love the fireworks cruise--have a great time!
