Ideas for last minute use of Silver plan wishes?

Okay, I have made as many dining PS's as I dare. I think we are going to explode eating so much good food! We have 4 wishes left and no idea what to do with them. If we do not book other activity options like boat rentals, parasailing, behind the scenes tours, etc. in advance, do we have zero chance of planning them once we arrive?

I am thinking, with two kids 4 and 1, the behind the scenes tours might not be a great option but maybe I am wrong about this? The two kids eliminate golf, even if we were players. The spa options are a joke. We are doing a sleigh ride ... unfortunately, the night before our package starts. That leaves boat rentals and parasailing. Do these book up months in advance? Does anyone have any other ideas for using wishes? (The sleigh ride isn't listed in the brochures at all. A CM told me when I called to book it. Maybe there are other activities that aren't publicized?)

Thanks for any comments!

Did you ever think about using your kids wishes for some childcare at one of the nice resorts, and you and your DH could have a nice meal and some alone time? Just an idea!

Actually yes! I forgot to mention that. Our ODS would LOVE this, but we have a 16 month old too and we'd have to get an in-room sitter for him too. I am not opposed to having an in-room babysitter (I am ducking under my desk to avoid those flame-y thunderbolts that might come my way! :p ) but I would keep the boys together for the simple reason that my 4-year-old can communicate and the baby can't. We might try to work the activity center in another day and have some quality alone time with DS#2 but we are SO booked in the evenings. Do you know how far in advance the activity center reservations need to made to get in?

Thanks for answering!

I believe you can make reservations the same day, but you have to take a chance that they might not be available.

They have merchandise that you could use your wishes on. You could also get a Disney Animated Scene Photo Package. This is a picture Mickey Plays When Walts Away. (3 diff. views) There is also a 3-D Mickey Crystal Figure and Mickey Photo Frame Memory Box (I'll post a picture in a few - after I upload them). You could also get a Disney Wilderness Lodge Lincoln Logs Set.

This is the Crystal Figurine

and the photo frame memory box (the protective film is still on the glass portion). The photo goes on the left side and they give you the felt covered cardboard back to put behind the picture

the inside - you would see the felt backing on the left if I had a picture in the frame.

Buzzlady, sorry it's taken me so long to answer! Thanks so much for taking the time to post those pics. I think the souvenirs look nicer than the Disney pics I've seen. Do you like the quality of the photo memory box? Also, I searched for the Disney Animated Scene Photo package ... unless I am more brain-dead than usual (ok, I *am* more brain-dead than usual with refuses-to-sleep-teething baby on my hands!), I didn't find anything about it on the Silver plan inclusions page. Can you tell me a little more about it? Thanks again!

The quality of the photo box is nice. The only thing is that if you open the lid the box it falls back because the lid is heavy (and I don't have anything in my box to weigh it down). I don't really see that as a problem because the box is displayed with the lid closed.

We had the animated photo scene done at EPCOT in Kodak's Journey Into Your Imagination pavillion. What you do is pick out a scene/background/character for your picture. They had so many I really don't remember them (it was over a year ago). I do remember a Lilo & Stitch surfing one. We did the castle with Tinkerbell at the top and Mickey & the gang along the bottom with the year 2003. After you pick out your scene, you pose in front of a blank backdrop and have your picture taken. You can do just one person or the family. After your satisfied with your pose they impose your picture into the scene that you picked out. I think the package was only around $13.00 - not a great value for your wish but it was a nice keepsake.

If you use a wish for eating, be sure to go to the Hollywood Brown Derby. It only cost one wish per person and you can order a filet with a lobster tail. Our bill (DW and I) was almost $150.00 and it only use up 1 wish a piece.

I would suggest that you make it a priority to book as much as you hope to for Friday and the weekend. In your time frame it may prove busy, but should free up Monday. You could leave your open time slots for that time frame, and possibly have more success with last minute decisions. I'm not saying it will be insane on arrival, but I do know that the Cheerleader competition and Mouse Fest will be having activities over the weekend, with Mouse Fest continuing into the following week.

We had the same problem with unused coupons on our plan (which were only good for eating) so we ordered extra meals as take out on our last night and placed them in the fridge for the next day. But I think on the Silver Plan you can use your wishes for recreation too and we really really enjoyed the boats that you can take out. A pontoon boat could fit your whole family and it is a nice break from the parks and allows you to see the resorts and parks from a different viewpoint you can also take a picnic out there which would be fun. If you like speed boats you can take the Water Sprites out and zoom around the lakes. We had a great time with no reservations and never a wait for a boat.
