I'm realizing that our first day at Magic Kingdom we will have to leave the park at 6 due to the Christmas party. Kinda a bummer for our first day. Any ideas to for fun things to do after 6?

Loads to do so don’t worry!
- Park hop if you have the ability.
- Disney Springs
- Dinner at a resort
- Swim
- Chip and Dale Sing-a-long at Ft. Wilderness.
- Hoop De Doo

That’s just what popped into my mind there is loads more.

I also noticed you said Christmas party so depending on your dates we like to tour the monorail resorts and look at the Christmas decorations. Especially Grand Floridian.

Resort hop between the Yacht Club, Beach Club and BWI. They are all set up with Christmas decorations.

Take the boat over and have dinner at whispering canyon or with Snow White at wilderness lodge, the most beautiful resort during Christmas..

Where are you staying? Many resorts will have seasonal options.
You could swim at your resort - for our NY family, swimming outside at that time of year would be fun.

Adding to what others have said - visit the Boardwalk area. They have Buskers, snacks, dining, bars, fireworks views of EPCOT.
Depending on if its adults only - Jellyrolls (21+) is a fun piano bar on the Boardwalk.

Thanks Everyone! I guess I let the idea of not seeing the fireworks in MK the first night take over my brain lol. Now that I'm reading everyone's ideas, its occurring to me by the time we do something simple and grab a bite to eat, having an early night might not be a bad idea anyway.
We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge. Hoping it will be warm enough to swim. Our granddaughter would love that! Just gotta remember everything doesnt have to be the way I planned it in my head lol

The Wilderness Lodge will be the perfect place to grab dinner and relax! I would recommend Geyser Point, with lakeside seating and a partial fireworks view. They have ping pong and other games to play, swim, arcade, etc.
WL is our family fav - you will have an awesome time!!

How about watching fireworks from outside the park? Head over to one of the monorail resorts you should have a decent view then take the MK ferry back to wilderness lodge.
Are movies under the stars still offered in the winter/fall? That could be fun. And you have a good view of the water parade from there too, no?
