My best friend is planning a VR for her 25th wedding anniversary during the last week of August. She is working with Disney and I'm not certain what she has considered/planned so far. I know she was trying to decide between Illuminations and Fantasmic so I'm thinking it's either a dinner or dessert party. From what she has said there will be 16 or so attending. We will all be staying for the week with their DVC membership points.

I am looking for ideas on how to make this a special week. What things can I plan or do to make it more special? My DH wants to send them out to dinner on their own but that's not their speed. They would much rather be together with everyone. The have 2 DD's but both are in their teens. So they get plenty of alone time. I've thought of personalized group t-shirts but I don't like the one's Disneyshopping.com has available. I've bought some in the past that allowed for full personalization but it seems the only ones they have have canned statements. Anyone know of a website that does Disney personalized t-shirts? I've googled for hours with no luck - maybe it's just me! LOL!

I've drawn a blank other than the t-shirts. I was thinking if she booked the dinner I could plan/pay for the dessert party. Does anyone know how much a DP would be for 18?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

There are some varying costs for dessert parties, but here is the information on mine for my wedding next year. We have a site rental fee of $350 (I am at a venue for a larger group compared to 18 so I'm sure this cost might vary) with a minimum expenditure for food starting at $19.95. This food expenditure is rolled into the entire food and beverage minimum that we have to meet for our wedding that day. I know it varies if you don't have it the day of your wedding. Hopefully someone else can answer this question better for you.

There are lots of neat things that you could do for them besides paying for dinner. A great group activity that my family has done on several occasions is to rent a boat for the Wishes fireworks or Illuminations. If they have their dessert party at Epcot, you can opt for the Wishes one. The pontoon boats seat around 10 people and they provide some basic snacks on them.

What about a group dinner at one of the character meals? This is always a lot of fun for people no matter what their age. There are also options for Magical Gatherings. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wd...landing?id=MagicalGatheringLandingPage&bhcp=1 I haven't had an opportunity to take part in one of these, but I hear they are a lot of fun. Another fun thing to do is to participate in one of the backstage tours. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/06/16/AR2006061600504.html I have done the Keys to the Kingdom tour and really enjoyed it.

A more alone activity would be to buy tickets for a show like Cirque du Soleil or pay for a carriage ride at one of the resorts.

I want to say that it is so sweet that you sending your friend some extra pixie dust pixiedust:

the other cost for a dessert party is the illuminations viewing fee (if everyone doesn't want to use park admission that day) is $12.50 ppn.

Another fun thing you could try to book would be the luau at the Poly. It's a lot of fun and it's an all inclusive thing.

I'm glad you mentioned this other cost, I completely forgot since a lot of my guests will be using tickets.

heres for the t shirts.....go over to the creative Disigns boards.....they help customize disney tshirts & all you do is print it out & iron it on a tshirt...they have some great stuff over there!!
