I am looking for a gift for my DD4. Price around $100-$150 - looking for this to be her main gift (we figured out DS5 and that is why the price needs to be in that bracket). She is a Strawberry Shortcake freak! Also likes the princesses and is definitely a girly girl. We have assorted SS stuff - clothes, toys, etc. She has a TV already (thanks grandma/grandpa), V-Smile, Large Cinderella Princess Doll (not doing the Ariel one).

Need suggestions please: :confused3

I got my DD4 a Leapster for this Christmas and a few games to go with it. Add in a carrying case and you should be all set.

What about a kitchen set? I know my dds liked that when they got one for Christmas one year. What did you get your 5yo ds? I picked up a remote control Hummer for mine but after that I'm stumped. He is no help-he had his big sis write his Santa letter today and he asked for a Mr Softee truck that sings and moves by itself, moon shoes, a Wendys set, dark chocolate and he just came downstairs and asked me to add a Ghostbusters truck that never needs batteries and a fake moon. None of that should be a problem

Does she have a bike?

I second the kitchen set idea. There are some really fun ones out there as well as accessories galore to go with it.

Or, how about a dollhouse? My niece is about 4 and has the "Loving Family" one from Fisher Price (I think that is the company). She loves that one.

Happy Shopping!

I second the kitchen set or dollhouse :thumbsup2 !

BDD3 is getting boy/girl Bitty Twins and some accessories. She didn't ask for them but then saw the catalog I got and pointed to them in the stroller and asked if Santa could bring them. Luckily (since there are no stores here) I'd already ordered that set. :teeth:

The kitchen and leapster are great gifts too.

Plus it makes it easy for relatives etc. to buy small gifts like extra furniture sets.

One year I put together a big Dress-Up trunk for my DD - it had outfits, hats, gloves, shoes, jewels, scarves..My girls are 9 and 7 and they still enjoy playing in the dress up stuff!

I would also give a :thumbsup2 to a dollhouse - that's the other item that was worth the investment in our house!

I gotta go with the doll house! You can go either way my DD had the fischer price one and she had(has) the Playmobil large mansion. This is a great doll house and what is best is it will last and be played with until she grows out of dolls, it is not a little kid type like the loving family, but is a play with one not display. Then you get to buy furniture for every occasion for the next 6 yrs. My DD even got the extension floor a few Christmas's later. Playmobil stuff is so nicely made and really lasts.

I had gotten ny nephew the V-Smile system for Christmas last year....I see that they have a "pocket" v-smile unit that plays the same cartridges that the bigger system does! It'll make the games portable for use on car rides, etc. - I'm thinking that may be his gift this year....another thought for that age group...the fisher price Kid Tough Digital Camera! If you add a game to the V-smile and the batteries/extended memory card to the camera, you'll be right in your price range!

Some great ideas and I really do appreciate them, please keep them coming. It is soooo hard picking out gifts now because they have soooo much! My 2 kids are the only grandchildren on my DH side so they go way overboard every year (they help play Santa at our house :) ) not to mention their 7 aunts & uncles, my relatives, friends, etc.

DD has 2 kitchen sets - 1 large/1 small and the complete Little Tikes/Step 2 household - complete with washer/dryer combo, hair salon, and work bench area

She has a bike that santa brought 2 christmases ago and has not really outgrown that one yet. Plus I don't like the idea of bikes for Christmas around here because you can't use it till spring - her B-Day is April so we would do that then.

Dollhouse - love the idea but gave that one to my inlaws this year as an idea and they usually listen. Might talk to them on that one to make sure they are going to do it - and if they are at least buy accessories for it.

Leapster - DS has 1 and both use it. Inlaws are getting both the Nintendo DS Lite this year (it's the only unit that has Strawberry Shortcake Games - her favorite!!!!)

Dress up trunk - both kids got one at age 3 - I started them almost as soon as they were born picking up clearance items after Halloween & other holidays. Complete with a bucket of jewelry I bought on ebay of beads, clip on earrings, etc.

My DS5 asked me for a "real" digger, digger (backhoe). Yeah  I'll run right out and put that one under the tree :rotfl2: He's getting a basketball hoop game thing for the cellar (Dicks sporting has one for $120.00)
