Ideas for covering autograph book?

Hello there, creative people, I am new to this board and looking for help. I bought spiral-bound index card book for my 2 DDs to use as autograph books. Juliaandnicks mom was nice enought to do a name design for my 1 DD that was missing. Here is my question. What is the best way to cover these books so they will not fall apart. Should i cover in clear contat, modge-podge, etc? What have you found to be the best for 2 little girls?

I think clear contact paper is your best bet!
