Ideas for Christmas cards

Hey,

I am trying to think of fun ideas for our photo christmas cards. We usually do the kids in front of the tree with Santa hats. And I can do that again, but wondered if you guys had any other ideas?

I've never been to Georgia, so I don't know what kind of scenery you might have near you...but how about an outdoor shot somewhere beautiful? I have a friend down in SoCal, and she always sends me a beautiful photo card of her kids on the beach. My husband is always insanely jealous that they can go to the beach in December and not need a parka (we can hardly do that in June ).

Another friend of mine does the neatest cards with Christmas lights. One year she had them kind of draped around her kids (lit) and took the photo in a pretty dark room. You could see the kids faces but it was mostly by the light of the Christmas lights. This year's card has her two boys in chairs back to back, "tied up" with the Christmas lights and their teenage sister standing over the back of the chairs where they meet with a mischievous smile on her face. So cute!

i do a full page collage of photos from throughout the year with my cards. snapshots or photos. I print them out at kinkos for a few cents per page. it kind of "sums up" the year.

My SIL does black and white pics of her kids, but something in color. One year they were all wearing hats where the band was in color. This year, they had bright tie-dye shirts. The always take them outdoors with trees in the background.

I used a Disney picture of DD this year holding Tinkerbell.

I actually received the cutest Christmas picture/card in today's mail. For the past couple years my friend has sent me a picture of her son all decked out in a cute outfit (I got one for each of his first 3 yrs) now she has a little baby girl to add to the mix. I figured I would be getting a cute card with her two little ones. WRONG.....I got the most adorable Christmas card with the saying "stockings were hung by the chimney with care" and the picture was of the two kids' little naked baby feet. It was the most adorable thing I've seen.
