Im going t o Disney World in April 2008 with my parents and my 10 year old brother (im 13), i need some ideas to make the wait for he trip seem quicker such as family activities and counting down ideas \, thanks :tink:

You can sign onto VMK, if you haven't already at VMK.com! It's Virtual Magic Kingdom and I know that a lot of people actually feel like they have a bit of Disney each day when they can't actually be at the park. There's even a secton on the DISboard dedicated to it. Then because you're going to the park, create a character there if you're into it. You can get more virtual stuff for your person (ie. treasured black mickey ears!) when you create a character there.

I also like reading up on the Disney rides and parks before going on the trip. For example, you can read up on the Buzz Lightyear ride and find out what targets are worth more to get a greater score. Or you can read up on trivia and facts about the park. For example, I remember reading that on the Haunted Mansion ride line, there are the gargoyle-like heads on the poles. The one at the end is almost missing its face because everyone always rubs it when making the turn on the line (not sure if they changed it or not). I like finding out where they have Hidden Mickeys and stuff on rides as well so that I look forward to seeing them with my own eyes. For example, on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority, the "scene" with the woman getting her hair done? Her belt has a Mickey on it.

This is all the stuff I'm doing now (along with reading the disboard) ... and I don't even have a Disney trip planned ... :rotfl:

I know how you feel. My trip is in Dec. I found that putting together a scrapbook of photos of mickey and the gang is helping me to pass the time. Nothing fancy just use construction paper and a notebook.

Thats a good idea, you could start making a trip scrapbook with crafted pages to hold your photos from your trip. And this way you could also be thinking about what kind of pics you'll want to take on the trip for each of the pages you've made.

I love this idea! I've already got a scrapbook for the trip. It never occured to me to start working on the pages BEFORE I have the pics. Thanks!

Awesome! That will be fun and help pass the time. And the pages can be somewhat generic to accommodate any type of pics, they have lots of great Disney papers out these days.

Happy scrapping!
