Ideas for a week in palm Spring

We are spending a week at the Larwence Welk resort in Palm Spring (May 16-23). I am looking for some fun things for my DH and DS (11) to do. They golf so we are also looking for a child friendly course in the area. My DS wants to bring his skate board so some ideas on a skate park would be helpful too. We are then driving to Disney for a four-day week-end.

There is a skate park in Palm Springs. I did a google search for "skate parks in Palm Springs" and you can find the web site, directions and other info. There's also a Soak City water park. You can take the tram to the top of Mt. San Jacinto. There's a Boomer's amusement place.

Has anyone been to the street fair on Thursady evenings?

The skatepark in Palm Springs is supposed to be really good. My son is bringing his skateboard. We're also planning to visit Joshua Tree National Monument and the Living Desert Museum.
