Ideas for a Special Momento

Just another vote for the pick a pearl in Japan. You not only get the the pearl and jewelry but you get the experience as well. They really do a great job of making everyone feel special. You can also take lots of pictures as well. We do this every year and have some great shots of our DD when she got twins and a blue pearl her very favorite.:)

I bought my grandson a sketch of Buzz Lightyear (his favorite character at the time) when we visited a few years ago, a Mickey sketch with a quote by Walt Disney for myself, and a Kermit the frog for my son's girlfriend framed from Art of Disney shop and with the frame they were each about $50. Going to get one for 2nd grandson on my trip this year.

I too was thinking of "Pick A Pearl" and have it put in a necklace. With the right little holder to put it in she will be able to put it on a new chain(s) as she grows. Something she will have for a lifetime.

My DH bought me a Tinker Bell jewelry box at the big Disney Store at DTD. You open it up and it plays "You can Fly" and has Tinker Bell twirling. It was just $12 (I think), but it's so cute, and even as an Adult, I treasure it and keep little mementos in it, like special lanyard pins and such.

I love all the ideas posted. Here are some others that come to mind:

-Music box (disney of course)
-Silhouette art (there is a place that does them on Main Street)
-Disney art/poster to hang on wall. (I am a sucker for the attraction posters.) I know sometimes the art stores feature Disney artists who hand draw characters etc.
-Start a Disney charm bracelet that she can add to over the years. They have some nice ones in the Emporium on Main St.

I agree with the pearl setting as well.. I was coming in here to suggest it. One of my favorite ones is a blue pearl I picked at the CBR with my grandmother and she had got it set. It was the only time we ever went on vacation with my grandma so it holds a special place to my heart.

Some photo gallery sites like Shutterfly have photo books that you can have made. You choose the photos and lay it out with whatever text you want to write. You can really personalize it for her. I had one done for my nephew after a California/Disneyland trip. They start at $15 but sometimes you can get coupons for 50% off or free photo books when you sign up on the website.

Disney has them too but I think they are a lot more expensive.

The photo book and a memento like a favorite character figurine would be great keepsakes.
