Ideas for 100 day collections.

How old are the kids? Are they learning to count? Just curious how they could be learning from this project, seems sort of silly, unless of course, they are learning to count.

My kids did it in K. But they had to make posters of 10 groups of 10 bc they were learning to count by 10s. DS12 just did 10 random things, DS6 last year did a drive thru safari. 10 different animals grouped in 10s and he drew a road driving through it and we glued on a toy foam truck driving.

I saw a cute one, poster of the student starring up at the sky and she glued a 100 stars above her. Mom was going to do her gazing into a fishbowl but couldnt find the fish stickers but that idea was cute too.

Help DD needs to bring in a collection of 100 objects to school. I would love to come up with, or truthfully I would love for someone to help me come up with a creative way to send in 100 somethings...........I suggested stringing 100 frusit loops on a necklace but DD said they already did something like this in school. There are no allergies in the class. Thanks!!!

We did 100 Box Tops For Education. The teacher thought it was very creative and the PTO LOVED getting the box tops!

:teacher:

Does the teacher ctually count every child's project?

How about 100 pennies in the shape of a dollar?

When my daughter's class did this, I sewed 100 buttons onto a shirt. They had a fashion show for their 100 days.

I did this also, I sewed the buttons into the shape of 100! It was for her 100th day of Kindergarten.

Just did this last night for DS#2. I threw 100 goldfish (the leftover Christmas shaped ones, so trees and stockings were in the bag too) into a baggie and off he went.

Ah, the differences between the 1st and 2nd DS's projects are huge.;)

100 lime green paint chips mickey heads from the home depot..

100 Q-tips (get the cheap ones from the dollar store). Lightweight and easy to carry. :thumbsup2

These are great ideas. DD is in the first grade. I am going to read the thread to her and let her decide....well, all except the buttons sewn on the shirt...love , love , love the idea but I can't sew at all!!!! Lol thanks

Thanks for all the ideas! We have to do this tonight as DS5's project is due tomorrow and Grammy coming into town for 10 days kind of threw a wrench in our plans to get this done sooner. Nothing like the last minute I say! :rotfl:

100 plastic grocery store bags tied together to see the importance of recycling

100 cotton balls

....when my 21yo was in kindergarten, for 100th Day, we got a map of the world and stuck 100 1-cent stamps on it. Then, we looked up the way to say (and spell) 'hundred' in as many languages as we could think of and pasted it [the word 'hundred' in that language] on that country over the stamp. Finally, we drew lines from those countries to our location [hometown]. It was a big hit, especially since our school district is very multi-cultural.....

Gah...I hate it when people use those for things other than their intended purpose...which is to be laminated and attached to my bag!:rotfl2:

I think we're going to do 100 snowflakes.....

DS made a belt with 100 rubber bands when he was in the second grade. They had a fashion show and had to write up a description. His belt "featured an expandable waist band so that one size fits all."

I did this also, I sewed the buttons into the shape of 100! It was for her 100th day of Kindergarten.

For daughters we took 100 googley eyes and glued them on a tshirt in the shaped of 100....she ended up winning with that one in kidnergarten.
