Okay, my friend of about 15 years will be turning 18 in February. (Feb. 10th) I will be in Floridia enjoying some sunshine at WDW for her birthday. This happens every other year so this is nothing new for either one of us. I ALWAYS bring her a birthday present from Disney and I get her something different every year. She is a BIG time Tinker Bell and Beauty and the Beast fan. I was trying to think of something that I could do special for an 18th birthday gift. I was thinking about doing a really creative birthday card for her. She has wanted to go to Disney for a really long time and every time they have had plans to go they have been cancled or something has come up or whatever. ANYWAY, I was thinking about getting a 'scrapbook' that is just big enough to hold one picture per page, give or take. Decorate the front and back covers. Then write a nice little birthday note on the front page. Then while I am at Disney (I will be away the 5th-20th but only at Disney for 10 maybe 10.5 days.) In this time I was thinking about getting different people to sign the pages. For example, have Donald Duck sign the right page of the book and then I can put a picture of me with him or just him on the oppisite side. Have the people at the KidCot stations sign some pages as well. Does anybody have any ideas on how to do this without ink leaking through on the pages or anything like that? Should I get some autographs from the cast members? If so should I get their pictures to go with it? What size book should I do? Has anybody else done this before and have any tips? Any suggestions? What does it look like completed?

Still looking for a couple ideas to maybe fine tune this. Thanks!

What we did was get one of those paper autograph books. Can't remember if I bought at DTD or if I purchased it ahead of time at a Disney store. I know they have them at DTD though or did. We got all the signatures in that book. Then for christmas last yr I made a book for each one of the kids. I did an autograph on one page, then their picture on the other. It was a 7x7 book. There was enough room that I added a few stickers and wrote where the pic was taken. Then at the end I put a poem for each one about their trip. Turned out cute...even if I do say so!;) LOL!

Good Luck...

That could work. That way I could make sure nobody got an autograph on the wrong page or something. I could then do quotes from the shows the people were in. Or just some of their commonly used phrases.

I had an idea pop up that I could get a stuffed animal of some sort. Then have the people pose for pictures with the animal or whatever it is and then she can have pictures of her gift with . . . Would that be practical?

This is what I plan to do for my daughter during our trip. I am taking assorted pieces of card stock (large enough for signatures) and the colored Sharpies. We'll have the characters sign the cards and I'll take a pic of my daughter with each. Then I will use those to make a srapbook when we get home.

btw... I can't wait!!!!!!! :hyper:

That's a cute idea! You can take pictures of the 'stuffed gift' at various places in the parks and with various characters. It may take some coordination and planning, but it would be something that she would always treasure and have to look back on! How thoughtful!

Would that be easy enough to do? It would almost have to be something really rather small so it wouldn't be annoying t carry around but at the same time how do I keep it from getting smashed?
