I keep changing my room requests, because frankly I can not decide. and reading these boards keep making me change my mind.

part of me wants the lake views and closeness to the main building in the 50/60 building

park of me wants 80s/90s because i was born there, but its so far away from everything!

i havent read too much about the 70s area, but i just cant choose!

does it really make a difference when it comes to the distance?

We just got back and stayed in building 3, which was the 50s and we were a lake view. Much quieter back there, but at the end of a long night it's quite a walk if you're exhausted. The bus stops are on the opposite side of the main building even so you walk from there to the lobby/check-in and THEN onto your room. Next time I would ask for something in the 60s I think and hopefully not as far.

don't let the idea of the 80's being so far from everything. I cannot understand why people say this?:confused3 We have stayed at POP over 6x times now and our favorite building is the 80's Sony walkman building. I love listening to the 80's music! The computer pool was never busy, the laundry facility was right there and so convenient. But most of all, the bus stops were soo soo close! Really, all you do is follow the sidewalk or cross the parking lot and bam you are there. Find a map of the buildings and take a look! Even my kids liked that section better that the 70's. I do love to walk around and enjoy all the sights, especially the Toy story section, which we stayed at numerous times too. But for closeness to the bus stop and the food court we feel that the Walkman building was perfect! Hope this helps!

It may just have been because we were so spoiled by BC, which was an elevator ride down to get coffee, and a minute walk to the buses. but the one time I stayed at Pop, we stayed in the 90's building and were in a pretty far off room. It was over ten minutes to get to Everything Pop (which I needed for coffee)!, over five to get to the buses. I felt as though the room was very far, whereas other buildings were much closer. I can say that the 'computer' themed pool was usually the least crowded in my experience there.
It is neat to see all the nostalgia of the 80/90's, but I would have preferred to be closer to everything. Good luck!

Thank you for your tip....I was wondering myself since we booked a preferred pool view room. I'm concerned with the noise since I am a horrible sleeper & was thinking about changing. I want to be near the buses & food court. Since I was born in 70 & LOVED the 80's that's where we are moving to. Love the idea of hearing 80's music :cool1:

I agree with PP. We were there in December and did not pay for preferred. I was worried too. I also stayed in the 80s, building nine. I was closer to to the bus and food court than I was when I did pay for preferred at POR (Bldg 18) last summer. I thought maybe I was upgraded but I was not. It was an easy walk to get coffee before heading out. The resort did not seem nearly as big as I feared.

Go ahead and request it! It was fine!:)
