I have all grown boys and am planning a trip for my niece and her 4 and 6 year old girls. Ideally, what 3 FPs should I aim for in each park. This is their first trip!

It depends a lot on their individual interests. When my older daughter was little, she was afraid of dark rides. She loved princesses. She refused to ride Splash Mountain because the hill scared her.

My younger daughter loves thrill rides and gets bored with smaller rides (like Barnstormer). She loved Splash Mountain when she was three. Can't wait to ride EE, but she is not yet tall enough.

That being said, here is what I would recommend:

MK

SDMT
Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain

If they don't like thrill rides, then:

SDMT (very small coaster)
Talking Mickey or meet the princesses (whichever characters the girls like more)
Peter Pan (Peter Pan is very popular and always has a long wait, but it is not as good as BTMR, in my opinion).

AK

Navi River Journey (unless they love thrills, in which case I would go for FoP- but height requirement is 44 inches, so 4 year old probably not tall enough)
Kilamanjaro Safaris
Kali River Rapids

HS

Toy Story
Star Tours
Tower of Terror (unless they are scared of drops and the dark- my three year loved it) If not ToT, then Frozen Sing Along

Epcot

Frozen
Spaceship Earth
Character Spot (though sometimes the fastpass line is longer than the regular line)

Don't choose based on their gender. Base it on how much time FP will save you. Make a list of what their mom thinks they will want to do and choose the 3 items that typically have the longest wait.

This is a good point.

I will add that it sometimes depends on the time of day you will be doing the attraction.

For example, Kali rarely has a wait first thing in the morning or late in the evening. I was just there on July 2nd around 8 pm, and though Kali had a posted wait on the app of 70 minutes, the posted wait at the ride was 20 minutes and when I got in line, it was actually about five minutes. We often do Kali at night and have walked on it many times.

If you plan to do Splash Mountain first thing, you might not need a fastpass.

If you want to meet the princesses first thing or last thing, you might not need fastpasses.

SDMT, Frozen, and Navi will nearly always be good uses of fastpasses, regardless of the time of day.

I agree on time. Our first trip I wasted fast passes on things that were a walk on wait because I didn't know. I think the preferred seating is worth a fast pass at the frozen sing along if they like frozen. Frozen ever after, sdmt, toy story, maybe a princess meet, Peter Pan.

As the mother of a 5 year old girl, I would say Peter pan, cinderella/elena meet, and enchanted tales w belle in magic kingdom. Roller coasters, no matter how small, can be scary for kids that age so I wouldn't assume you'll be going on them. In Epcot I would do frozen ever after, Mickey character meet and greet and nemo ride. Anything in animal kingdom would probably be fine except Dinosaur. Hollywood Studios I would do toy story mania, the frozen show and maybe star tours.
