I know we have a "what do you look like" thread, but in other forums I belong to they have a yearbook thread completely devoted to pictures. There is no off-topic conversations allowed and ones that are posted are deleted from the thread. The thread is also stickied at the top of the forum for ease of finding it, ensuring it doesn't slip back into the pages.
The benefit of it is that if you're trying to figure out who everyone is, you don't have to go through all the side discussions. I mean, I started to go through the "what do you look like" thread and it is HUGE with very few pictures of people. I was about to post mine up, but I think it would just get lost in a day or so with all the side conversations. Also lets be honest the search ability of this website isn't the greatest (the database is huge), so if someone was ever going to try to look me up it would be really hard.
What's everyone's thoughts?
A) We just let the "what do you look like" thread die off, create a new yearbook thread with some general rules and moderation of side posts, and have everyone start posting their pics there?
B) Should we keep both and people can still have their pics in the "what do you look like" thread, but also have them in the yearbook. The "what do you look like" thread would be used for referencing/linking pics from the yearbook and for the side conversations that go on now?
C) Just keep doing what we are doing and deal with the pain and suffering of scrolling through the thread.
