Anyone think this is feasible, good idea, bad idea, etc?

I thought about printing up some 5x7 size pics of the various characters for the kids to color, and having them color them prior to our trip. Then I would bind those pages, and have the various characters sign their respective pages. Any thought?

I think this is a great idea. I had an idea similar as my kids aren't really into coloring very much. I though I would get index cards and try to find character stickers and put them on the different pages for their autographs.

You can buy spiral bound books of index cards. That way you can keep them all together so you won't have a loose stack of index cards to deal with at Disney. I did that for my baby last time we went. She was 5mo at the time. I intended to take the pages out when we got home, put the photos of her with the characters on facing pages, and laminate them. Then I was going to punch a hole in the corner of each page and hook them all together on a key ring. I never got around to doing all this, but I still think it's a good idea! Maybe this time... (She's almost two now.)

What a great idea for an autograph book with the personal touch. My boys aren't into colouring. I purchased 4"x6" photo albums (with Buzz on the cover - for $1.99 ea. BTW). I will print up on card paper and cut to 4X6 a selection of cards with Disney Clip art in the corners. Some with the individual characters for them to sign, and some that just say "Walt Disney World 2001". The DIS boards are a great place to select the clip art. The boys can then slip their cards into a zip-loc bag to keep them clean to carry into the parks. Thus less of a load. I will take a picture of each of them with the characters to go beside the autograph card in their albums.

Got this basic idea thanks to another DISer and expanded on it. And that's the reason we do this.:D

Since our first visit, we buy the kids a poster with Mickey and Minnie with whatever event is going on like the millinium, 25th anniversary etc......We have the characters sign with a fat sharpee permanent marker on the poster. It's great!!! After the trip, we take it and have it framed. The hallway leading to the kids' bedrooms is what we call our hall of fame. We hang all the framed posters there. They enjoy getting to see the posters, signatures and drawings. Every year we try to get as many characters as possible to sign.

I purchased a spiral journal in a craftstore ( The paper is real thick so no bleed tru )
I have a i-zone camera ( the one that produces small stickers ) , so I take a picture and 10 minutes later I can attach it to the page, so we can tell who signed it and have a pic to remember. Also add some stickers later on of that character to jazz things up more.:

JKW, the posters sound really cool...but how do you logistically manage them in the parks without them getting messed up? How big are they? Do you carry them in a tube? What do you use for a hard surface for the characters to sign against? Where do you buy the posters?

For the posters, we keep our eyes open in the Disney Magazine, Disney Store, and several sites on the web. We got a really nice Millinium poster with Mickey & Minnie for $3.00 advertised in the Disney Magazine. We got a real nice poster with Mickey in a cloud shape over the castle on the web for $10.00. We toted the poster in the tube and used a bottle holder you know the ones you can buy at the parks to sling over the shoulder or back. As far as keeping it nice and not smearing after the signature just make sure the marking is dry before rolling it back up. It only takes a few seconds. The characters especially Mickey were impressed and spent alot of time with kids. Last time, Mickey stopped us outside of his house to show Minnie the poster. Great picture!!!! Oh... the other thing we always have a face character write the year on the poster. Hope this helps.
