So I have read back and seems that you are all doing well....glad to here that. Glad you left a link or I would be looking all over the place. So what's everyone up to this summer anyway?????????besides drinking

Robin!!:yay: I'm glad you enjoyed your camping trip. My camping days are well behind me. I'm too spoiled to rough it. Now for the next part of your trip, I would love to join you. Nothing too exciting for my summer. In five more weeks I will send my baby girl off to college. My son is in year round school and after a month off, he started fourth grade last week. They grow up too darn fast.:upsidedow

My dd came home from her Dad's. Her bff called me and asked if she could spend the night since they haven't seen each other ina month. She got her a welcome home cake and they invited me for dinner and cake. Well, they have a kegarator or however you spell it. So, by the time I left at midnight I was pretty tipsy. :lmao: I have this feeling my dd is done going to her Dad's for the summer, she was very happy to be home.

To start with I DO NOT ROUGH IT.....I camp Faux camping...or at least that's what we like to call it....we have a with a toilet, sink, shower, Microwave, oven, Cable TV, Air conditioning and heating and all the comforts of home. We put out our Faux grass from Home depot all around the dirt area and even rake the Faux grass when the leaves fall on it:rotfl2: ....we camp where it is popular with activities and full hook ups....so as for roughing it...that stopped about 6 years ago. One year we were going I said " That's it, I am soooooooo done tenting" and we ventured out and got a Motor home....Camping is a pleasure now:thumbsup2

As for the kids moving away from the house....that is a tough one...not sure how i will deal with that. WE are such a close tie family and are together all the time that it will not be easy. They are very independent now and are also only 14 and 11 so I have a way to go. How are you dealing with your daughter heading off to collage and is she going locally?

I suppose I could handle that, but do you still find yourself feeling like it's not a real vacation since you probably do a lot of cooking, dishes, etc., but just in a more confined area?? I think my family might get on each others nerves after a few days without separate spaces to escape to.

It's a three hour drive, but her classes this first semester are M-Th, so she'll be coming home after class on Thursday afternoon and heading back Sunday afternoon. Right now she thinks she will get homesick and want to come home every weekend, but I don't know how long that will last. She is also close with her little brother, so that is a draw to return home. Plus she's made comments about missing her own bed, bathroom and home cooked meals. She's at that age when she wants to be so independent, but still wants the comforts of home. If nothing else, she'll have to return home when she runs out of clean clothes to do her laundry since she's too much of a priss to go to a laudromat.:rotfl:

Whiskey for our Wednesday cocktails.

Do tell us how the DCL cruise turns out! Tried to convince the spouse to do the Western. Plan backfired. No cruise for Data! We decided to go to Mexico for the entire week take in a major archeological tour each day.

All is good, but I'm having DCL withdrawl.

That is why we go the Campland on the Bay...it Rocks for a vacation the activities are great and the kids have so much to do....there camp Recreation people are wonderful and cover kids to adults with activities all day long.....there are people that have been camping there with there families for 30 years....

they even have T-Shirts that read...Campland Raised 2008....this was our 13th year. No matter what vacation we plan through the year if we dont include Campland the kids get very upset. They are so busy(campland that is) that you need to book 2 years in advance....we are booked till 2010 :thumbsup2

The kids have so much freedom there.....and I get to relax and enter into the pie eating contest that I win every year....Billie wins the horse shoe contest for worst player..... they have bands every weekend and DJ on Thursdays and Karaoke on Tue, and Talent contests, So many things....2 pools and so on.....well you get the idea.

Funny how kids always seem to come home to do laundry :rotfl2: whats up with that....I think it's just an excuse to see Mom...and eat ;)
