ID for my two year old...

We had the same fear with our son last summer when he was 2 and carried a copy of his birth certificate "just in case". For us it was never an issue and no one ever questioned how old he was (and he is a big guy).

So in short - if your are concerned, carrying a copy of his birth certificate can't hurt

I have a VERY Mature looking 9 year old :cheer2: , (we wear the same shoe size) and have had issues with restaurants not wanting to give her a kids menu, so last year I took her to the DMV and got her a state issued non-driver id....I also had concerns travelling because we look unalike to anyone not really looking, and I didn't want her to suffer any ignorant hassles.

It is great because it has her photo, lasts for 14 years, and will not be spoiled by water rides, or rainfall, as a paper certificate might.:scared:

She likes having an official id, and I imagine it won't be long before it is necessary for walking around.

I hope this helps.:flower3:

I'd bring copies of the BC just to be safe. Our DD will be 18mo. when we travel next and I'll be bringing her BC just in case. Last time we went my DS was 9 and on the big side so I brought his then too just in case anyone questioned his having a child's ticket. DD's getting her own seat on the plane but I'm still bringing it, I like to be prepared.

An official photo ID for an older child is a great idea!

This is the first I've heard about rules on what/where kids can eat and what you pay. Does this mean at a TS restaurant my 18mo old DD can't share with myself or my hubby? She definitely won't eat a full meal all by herself even off the kid's menu. :confused3 What about at Chef Mickey's?

DS4 is pretty small for his age. We were there when he was just shy of his 4th birthday and CMs were constantly surprised when I handed them a ticket for him.

As far as dining goes, your kids’ ages are in the computer. They know. Disney even has ours birthdays on file. When making reservations the CM noted that we were there right after DS2's last birthday and are going again shortly before his 3rd b-day; I was complemented on my planning.

I have been wondering the same thing! I also have been wondering though what to do with our son who turns three while we are there. His birthday is the next to last day we are there. Do the ages go by how old they are when you check in? Will it really matter for one day at the parks?

Hey, MickeyMarcie! We are in the same boat. Our dd turns 3 in the middle of our trip. I've asked around here about it, and everyone says Disney goes by the age when you arrive. I can't find that definitely on the WDW website--I'd feel better if I did. Guess I ought to just email guest services for peace of mind.

I don't want to feel like we're sneaking her in, but I also don't to pay for park tickets and meals for her if we don't have to.

I never thought about bringing proof of her age. I learn something every time I read these boards!:thumbsup2

Disney restaurants? Just wondering because I was just there with my 13yr old niece, and she ordered of the childrens menu many times. No one gave us any hassle about it. No way would we waste money buying her adult meals when she hardly eats all of a kids meal.

I was not actually talking about Disney restaurants...just one's in the NE where we dwell: Longhorn, Jackson Hole, etc..:goodvibes If I take her and a friend out, I just don't like when they offer it to one child and not the other. More of a need for justice and equity than a huge problem.

Ironically, I bump up her ticket to adult at Disney, so she does not have to eat off the kids menu on DDP. This will be her third year being 10!

PS She is just shy of 5" and I am not much taller lol, or perhaps
