Hello,

Preface: I thought I'd be the awesome planner and save a few bucks here and there - one of my victims is the lanyard/card pouch thinger that I've heard is sold in the parks for $20 a pop. There's 5 of us and $100 for a lanyard/pouch seems a bit much, so I thought I'd be brilliant...

Bought the lanyard at dollarama. Easy peasy.

CANNOT for the life of me locate the zippered pouches for the cards & FP. Tried staples & office depot - nothing that quite fits the bill. We are leaving in 2 weeks so it's too late to ship from the US.

Did anyone else try to be "brilliant" like me and actually find these things?

I will just suck it up and buy them at WDW if I Have to but I have my pride to worry about. ;)

Try the luggage department in The Bay or Sears, maybe even Walmart. They don't have a lanyard with a pouch but a larger pouch that would hold a passport.

Not sure if they have them in Winnipeg, but I just used the plastic holder from my city bus pass. I had gotten it (for free) when I needed to replace my bus pass. Couldn't hurt to ask at a kiosk or something. I used it to hold my photopass card but it was the perfect size for both!

I just saw some at Winners in the checkout line with a bunch of other travel stuff.

What exactly did you find at cabella's? I am looking for waterproof ones.

Also who did you book your flight through? I can't find anything lower than 1600 for 3 ppl right now.

You could try ordering for drop-shipping to your hotel. It works well for me.

Here's the link to the product:

It's a folded water proof wallet - I cut it in half to make individual pouches and am punching a hole in it so it will attach to the lanyards with clips.

I found carabiners at Cabelas as well and some smaller kid backpacks for my kids to use in the parks.

We booked our flight through Delta - we were comparing WestJest direct to driving to the US, hotel overnight and flights using Delta and it worked out to be SO much cheaper for us. (There's five of us though, which can add up.)

Ooh - That's a good idea! Too late for me now, but hopefully someone finds it useful.

I got ours at MEC - not zippered, just a ziploc type press and seal. They were $2 each and we've used them on multiple trips.

thanks dream for the info. We can't take the time off work to drive to the us or it definately would be cheaper.

Keep in mind that depending on when you plan to travel, Grand Forks and Fargo are 3 and 4 hours away. We are spending the night in Fargo, but the extra hotel and gas costs are nothing compared to direct flights from Winnipeg. Maybe you could book mid-morning flights and drive from Winnipeg really early to get there? (Factor in some time for border crossing!)

I think I saw somewhere you mentioned a Minneapolis departure - that's too far for us to drive too! (To catch a plane - we've driven to visit.)

The Fargo airport was deserted at 7 am in September when we flew to LA so I'm anticipating it to be fairly quiet again this year.
