I can't believe how great these things work for me. My lower back has hurt so bad the last few days, sometimes I felt like crying. But this morning I put one on and suddenly (well after 30-60 minutes) I feel like a new person. But now I'll be afraid that the pain will return if I take it off. And each one costs over $2. I did try a couple other brands-nothing near this degree of relief. I love these!

We've used them here too - and they're well worth the money.. Of course they don't work all the time, but when they do, it's great..

If they bring you such good relief, I say use them - as often as indicated on the box.. Cheaper than a trip to the doctor and prescription meds - if you already know what your medical issue is and don't need to be evaluated..

Hope you continue to be pain-free! :goodvibes

I have a bad neck and love using Icy Hot patches when it acts up. I have to be careful about keeping them on too long because I tend to get a little red rash from them. I'm not sure if it's from the patch or the adhesive that sticks them in place. But I do think they work great!

No matter what, do not use with a heating pad. An employee's husband died from doing this. She told me that the heating pad caused the med in the patch to poison his system, total sluke accident. Apparantly, it is on the box of the one that they had, I never used them so, I cannot relate.

Everytime someone speaks of these patches, I feel the need to warn them.

Pain relief is a wonder! I've used them, and they've helped, but don't try to sleep with them-they make you feel fizzy-like too much nyquil.

DS (13YO) was playing on his HS JV soccer team this fall, along with playing with his club team as well. He was on the soccer field 7 days a week during some weeks. Towards the end of the season, he started to get some lower back pain. A physical therapist friend of ours recommended the Icy Hot patches. They were terrific for him. He would warm up with the team, and if he was not starting, he'd put one on right away. If he did start, he did not put one on unless he came off the field. Between some fatigue, and the colder late fall temps really did a number on him. The patches really helped keep him loose.

With the high school season ended, and only doing 2 trainings/week, and one game, he is getting lots of recovery, and has not had any more back pain.

Thanks for the tip. I kind of wondered about putting one on before I go to bed, then taking it off in the morning. I just wish I could find a less expensive source for them. A package of 3 costs about $6.75. But oh, so worth it for complete relief!

Is it like the same stuff they use for hand warmers?? Where it's activated by the air and warms up instantly??

What about buying some of the hand warmers and wrapping them around with a bandage thing?

Believe it or not, I have gotten Hot Patches some from the Dollar Tree and they worked well for me. I loved those things. Great when you need them! I have seen Icy Hot patches at the Dollar Tree too. There are several varieties there. Can't vouch for their Icy Hot patches, but it would be worth a try.

I've slept with the thermaband heat pads and they are fine. Maybe it's something in the icyhot one?
