I'm Canadian, and so all I can do is the year long Cultural Rep program in EPCOT, or the Summer program.
I applied and interviewed for the summer program, and now I'm custodial starting May 25th.
Has anyone on here done the 3 month International program?

I'm Canadian (Ottawa) and am currently applying for the summer of 2009! Hopefully I get in as well! Is it really a full 3 months? Because I read somewhere that those who start on May 25th finish early august or something like that... But if that were true then it wouldn't be a full 3 months! :confused3

I've applied for the Summer IP but I'm from the UK.

Just had my interview today, programs run from:

May 26th - August 7th

June 2nd - August 21st

June 21st - August 28th

Not sure if its the same for everyone, but hope this helps!

It's not quite three months I suppose but whats a couple of weeks?

I did the International College Program (the three month summer one) back in 2005 (I'm from the UK, but now I live in Florida) - if you have any questions?

Katie - Are you still working for Disney? How did you end up living in Florida?
I love hearing the stories of people outside the US.:)

I don't work for Disney anymore - I loved it there but it's not where I wanted to stay. On the ICP, I met my now husband - he's American and he worked in the same location as me. We started dating, then I went back to the UK to finish my last year at university, and he went back to NYC to finish his last year. Then I moved over here, and spent two years at Disney on the J-1 visa and the Cultural Representative Program - we got married in July and now I have a green card thing.
All the Disney programs were amazing experiences! The ICP was the best because it was new, and the first few months working at Disney are the best - but having Disney on your resume looks so good to other companies!

Wow that's so neat!

I'm only asking this because you've worked there longer than most... but do you think it is at all possible for non-US citizens to eventually move up in the company? For a few years now my ultimate dream has been to one one work for Disney full-time. I've heard of a few Canadian-origin people (I'm from Canada) who are now pretty high up in the company. I have no idea how they managed to get there though!

Hey, I was wondering if you could share some information with me about the cultural representative program if thats the program your doing. Im thinking about doing it, but Id like to know about it from someone who has experienced it, or is experiencing it :) Any information would be greatly appriciated, thanks :D x.

I will be happy to give you any info you need! Its a one year programme for most countries. You work in the World Showcase country of where you are from, so I work in the UK. You get put in a specific role like merchandise, food and beverage or attractions. Its so much fun and even though it is a long time to be away from family, I think it is definitely worth it. If you want to know anything else just PM me.
