<font face="Comic Sans MS"><font color=navy>I spent two weeks at Ramsau, many moons ago, and we hiked the Alps everyday that it didn't rain (and sometimes when it did). We visited the Koenigsee ... did you go on the boat & listen to the music? They used to play a song on the trumpet, and it would echo back from the mountains - the song used the echo - it was so pretty.
We also hiked over the mountains, and down to the Koenigsee from there. I have some pictures of us looking down at the lake. There were over 900 steps leading down to it - by the Kirche there.
I'll tell you a memory I have -- there was a friendly stag w/13 points that used to walk up to the tourists up in the Alps. Once when we were hiking, I found a branch, grabbed it, put it behind my head, and proclaimed, "Ich bin ein Kirsche." They laughed at me, of course.
Here's a pic of me (Aug 11, '78) with my German sister. I was 18 & she was 17 at the time. Notice we're wearing knickerbockers and hiking boots .
Here's a postcard of the Koenigsee, and various things around the lake.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Carl. It was fun remembering the great times I had w/my German friends.
