Ice Water?

I was just wondering if you could get a glass of ice water from counter service places along with a meal AND just a glass of water during the day.

We don't want to lug water bottles along with us during the day and were wondering if we could pick-up a glass of water during the day when we need it.

You can get a cup of ice water with meals, water is our preferred beverage. As far as just walking up and asking for water...I would not wait in line for it, there are plenty of drinking fountains...and if I want ice cold water while wandering around in the parks, I fork over the cash for bottled water.

Water is definitely my beverage of choice. I don't like tea or coffee and seldom drink soda. You can get a cup of water free from any of the counter service places and most of the smaller venders too. It's a large cup too, not a kiddie cup.

Funny aside: at Hollywood & Vine in January I ordered water and the waiter made a point of telling me beverages were included in the price. I thanked him, but told him I preferred water. He looked at me kind of funny and again asked if I wouldn't prefer tea or soda (which was what my son and GD had ordered). I had to tell him for the third time that I wanted WATER. After he left my son laughed and said "Wanna bet he brings you a glass of soda". He didn't.

Ice water is free throughout WDW.

The fountain water can taste like sulphur but a Brita water bottle will filter all the funky taste out ( I know you said you didn't want to carry a bottle).

You can definitely order water at any restaurant. I have also walked up to a counter and gotten just water or a cup of ice. We carry a refillable water bottle with an insulated carrier. We freeze it partway overnite and that gets us through part of the day. Then we get fresh ice and water and refill it. Always amazes me how much people spend buying bottled water when you can get all you want for free .

Thanks so much! My mom says she won't mind the taste of the water - I was all for getting the Brita bottle, but I guess it will make it easier to have one less thing to drag around.
