Ugh, can winter be over with already?! :headache:

We're getting a downpour of freezing rain right now, expecting up to .5" to accumulate. I don't mind snow, and I don't mind cold.. but I hate ice!

I'm supposed to head into work at 3:30 so I'm hoping the roads crews are able to get at least a little bit of salt down on the roads by then so it's not completely terrible.

Anyone else out there having crappy weather today?

Yup, we have the warning here too, from 3p to 6a tomorrow morning. What a pain, I am just waiting for the power to go out....sigh And considering we should have been in WDW right now just adds insult to injury

Oh no...if Chicago is in the path I wonder if it is coming our? way Now I'm afraid to check the weather. :scared:

Seeing as we were watching the news at lunch and they were showing this storm...Yea...It's heading towards Chicgo. And it's all kinds of ugly.

Per the satelite picture I just was looking at, Chicgo is just in the lite blue stage, but the green, into yellow stage isn't far behind.

It looks like it will hit us. How badly, depends on if it shifts up, down or stays the same.

Here's the pretty picture I was looking at. We are in FT Wayne, so the front edge missed us, but whats coming won't.

Eeeyuk! :crazy2: I'm sorry you're gonna get that; I still remember all too well the Ice Storm of '98  :headache:

I walked too and from school today. Not fun. I shuffled like a little old lady the whole way!

no ice, but waaay too much blowing rain! Don't get me wrong, we need the rain - just not all at once!

:hug::hug: to everyone dealing with ice today. We had a horrible ice storm last year--schools were closed for a week. Power lines down everywhere. Not fun. Normally our kids might miss one or two days of school for weather. Last year DS was a senior and they missed 10!!! The poor kids, everyday they'd be watching the news praying they would go to school so they wouldn't have to make it up.

:goodvibes Sending good thoughts your way that it won't be too bad. Luckily today we just got lots of rain.

Yeah, so sick of this winter. Rochester, MN is forecasted for ice crapola to start late aft. Watch from 6 p.m. thru the overnight.

There's another storm coming in on sat too with ice mix.

I was out earlier today shopping with the crowds, LOL.

Uh oh! That doesn't sound good.. With that kind of ice build up there is sure to be power outtages..

I hope you're able to make it to work (and back) safely!!

Good luck! :goodvibes

UGH - we usually get the Chicago weather a day or 2 after they do. :guilty: Hope it dies out by then. I'm in Western New York.

Well, looks like we've been lucky so far. We DID get about .5" of ice build up, and then our temps warmed up to about 32 and the sun came out. :yay:

So, right now it's all mostly slush. It was a bit of a pain scraping all the ice off our Explorer, though. The weather forecast says it's supposed to stay about freezing during the day until Monday, so hopefully everything will be able to get cleared off the roads before it has a chance to really freeze.

I hate freezing rain. I'd prefer a blizzard over icy conditions any day. :scared: We just missed this line in southern Indiana -- THANK GOODNESS! Hope everyone who got hit stays safe and warm. :goodvibes

Nope, just fog. All day long. At least yesterday it'd burned off by now.

Darn it, I've been looking forward to snow since I started working from home back in August and I haven't seen it yet. Allegedly, we might get some Monday, but I'm not holding my breath.

Hope you are OK, Ashley.

I was just in the office for about 5 minutes yesterday - I grabbed a project I am workin on and high-tailed it home and worked from there. We stopped only to get gasoline for our generator, which fortunately, we did not have to use. All schools were cancelled, so our son was home too.

Our DD, a freshman at UI, told us that one of her friends was trying to walk across a parking lot yesterday morning that was a sheet of ice. She couldn't move without falling. So, she finally just sat down and scooted across the lot on her butt!!

Woke up this morning to a thin layer of ice on our driveway. I stepped out slid and grabbed a hold of the house. Then I inched my way back into the house. DD was not feeling all that great so I figured, perfect. Called her in from school and we are hiding for today. Tomorrow is another day.

We have a thin layer of ice on top of everything down here in SE MN.

Our garage is detached with a concrete patio between the house and garage which is solid ice.

No sun till Tuesday, weatherpeople are saying.
