ICE info on Magic Band?

I am wondering if it is possible to add "In Case of Emergency" information into the magic band of my children? Just my telephone number if they get lost, or any important medical information in case there is some kind of emergency, etc.

There's not really a way to add that specific info digitally, but you could always write it on the inside of the band in silver sharpie or attach it in some other way.

That won't be possible because there isn't any information stored directly on the band. The band is simply a connection - or way of reading your MDE/ticket info. If you are concerned I agree that writing it on the inside of your child's band would be the way to go.

The magic band is just a just like a room key when staying on-site. Back when WDW actually used room keys, you could charge at all WDW shops and restaurants using your room key. But it was always tied to your reservation, which was tied to your credit card for your stay.

The magic band is also a park ticket and can be used to get into the park. Instead of using an actual ticket for park entry, you can use your magic band.

The magic band ties back to a specific My Disney Experience account. Your park ticket would be registered with your MDE account and, if staying on site it would be attached to your reservation info and be used to enter your room.

Asking if you can put "In Case of Emergency" on a Magic Band is like asking if it could be added to your old WDW room key card or added to a park ticket.

You could write a little inside the bands, but there not a lot of room for emergency phone number AND important medical info. It would be much better if the children wore a necklace or something else that could list the data.

I think it's key to remember that the MagicBand links back to the MDE account. If a child's band is linked to the parents' account, and if the parents have their cell phone number listed in their account, Guest Services can see that...

Yup. I was called by a CM who scanned my lost kid's band (he was 3 at the time).

Wasn't talking about writing, but about the customization process.

Given that I've recently had sharpie fade within a day on something that had condensation on it, I'm not sure what marker to use that would combat sweat.

But I've always trusted disney's lost child procedures and have never felt the need to mark or tag my kid in any way.

When my kids were smaller Id use a fine point sharpie to write my cell number on their forearm. Then cover it in skin shield so it wont wash off. (Let the sharpie dry totally first, or else you'll just smear it.)

If you use the sharpie, put a piece of clear packing tape over it to keep it from smearing or coming off.

I actually ordered a skin from the site that magic your band( hope I can write this). They were able to make a red and white one. I put his allergies in black letters. They have an example on their website. Very easy to customize

ETA - if you click on customize your band, it will show up

I use a sharpie to write my cell number on the magic band. I normally retouch it once during a one week stay The sharpie doesn't fade out too quickly even with sweating and swimming.
