Please tell me your experience at the Ice Cream Social.

Do you think the ice cream is good? What do the kids get? Is it worth the money? Were the characters easily accessible or did you have to ask for them? I read some mixed reviews on allearsnet. Also, they had 3 choices for PS; 2:50,3:00,3:10. I hope they don't try to rush you. We booked for 3:10. How long does it take for the restaurant to complete a revolution?

We did the ice cream social in January 2004 and loved it!! 2 Moms and their 10 year old DDs. The characters come by and will sign the autograph books, pose w/the kids for pics. The restaurant revolves very slowly - probably an hour to make a complete revolution (?). The kids (and adults!) get a yummy, gooey sundae. The atmosphere and experience were well worth the cost! It will be a great break from the heat in summer! We'll definitely do it again!!

RachelTori ~ Where I was reading the comments were that there was no sauce or whatever on the sundae...it was just ice cream. So was there sauce in your experience?

cruise-o-matic ~ Have a spoonful for me (and then tell me all about it when you get back)! I hope you have a great trip :Pinkbounc

We did the ice cream social a few years ago and were at the 3:10 seating. The character interaction was great. Each of the characters was at our table several times. I think it's kind of a dead time for the restaurant- not lunch not dinner. The ice cream was good too. We were not rushed in the least. It was a great breather from the park, too.

We thought the Ice Cream Social is a fun and inexpensive way to cool down, relax and meet Mickey, Chip, Dale and Pluto. They each came to the table twice except for either chip or dale (I dont' remember which one). They played peekaboo with our daughter and she thought that was great. We have a lot of great video and pictures from the Icecream Social.

The kid's icecream was cute (scoop if icecream decorated like a face with a cone on top like a hat surrounded by gummy candy if I remember correctly and it was good. Our icecream was good too. The booths were high so we didn't feel like we were sitting on top of other people so we had "privacy" at the table. The platform revolves which was fun too. Our server was very attentive and kept coming over asking if we needed more drinks, etc. and she kept checking to make sure the characters had been to our table. My husband and I feel that it was worth it and we will definitely do it again.

Do you have to use a credit card to make PS's for the ice cream social? I thought I read that you're charged 10/pp if you fail to cancel within 24 hours.

Sorry if this is a dumb question:confused3
But, where is the ice cream social held? I've never heard of it.

Here's a snipet from our trip report last May about the ice cream social:

For those wondering about the ice cream social, we thought the food was great and the character interaction was as well. Here's what we got for $25 including tip:

2 adult ice cream treats consisting of 1 large chocolate chip cookie "glued" to a plate with melted chocolate topped with a large waffle cone "glued" to the cookie and filled with good vanilla bean ice cream; a rolled vanilla/chocolate cookie and a wedge of chocolate were stuck into ice cream.

1 kid's ice cream treat - large chocolate chip cookie "glued" to a plate with melted chocolate and topped with a large scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on which sat a chocolate dipped ice cream cone hat to resemble a clown. The clown's face was done with candy pieces. There were gummy worms on the plate as well.

2 large glasses of ice water (free)

1 kids souvenir cup with ice water (free)

While enjoying these treats we were visited by Mickey, Chip, Dale and Pluto. We got lots of pictures and autographs. DD had a blast with the characters and the ice cream.

I'd say the ice cream was along the lines of Breyers, Edy's or Turkey Hill. There wasn't any sauce/syrup. We stayed as long as we wanted - no rushing.

DD still talks about having ice cream with Mickey. It's one of the few things she does remember about that trip. She was 3 1/2 at the time.

We'll definitely do it again.

One more thing, you don't need a credit card to make this PS.
