Ice cream social for 4 please.... :)

Well, with a little luck I got us PS for the ice cream social at the 3:10 show on the 4th of July. I had my pick of 2:50---3:00 and 3:10... Not too bad considering I called at 8:40am...LOL


What can we expect at this?

Hi Melissa, and welcome to the DIS!

We did the ice cream social a few years ago. Everyone gets a big sundae with these really good cookies. They are good size sundaes too, sorry I can't remember what's in them. I do recall that there were no nuts on them. The character interaction is great. We got lots of attention from Chip and Dale and Pluto, and tons of pictures. You'll enjoy it.

We're doing this for the first time in two weeks and I am looking forward to it. I don't think many people know about this and/or go to it. I called about 3 weeks ago and got my choice of times for April 22.

We went last May and had a great time. The ice cream for the adults is vanilla in a big waffle cone which sits on a big yummy chocolate chip cookie. The ice cream has sprinkes and some chocolate pieces on it. The kids sundae has the ice cream sitting on the cookie with a cone of top to make it look like a clown. The ice cream tasted like Breyers to me. It was very good and didn't have any freezer burn taste at all.

The characters (farmer Mickey, Chip, Dale and Goofy) were wonderful. They each came around and sat with DD for a few minutes. We got some great pictures and DD still talks about having ice cream with Mickey.

A little piece of advice to keep the cost down. Don't order additional drinks. They'll bring ice water including the kids in a plastic take away cup.

I have a PS for the IC Social as well. Can I add a question here? WHat about 1 year olds? Will I have to order him his own or can I share with him? He would never eat a whole Sunday. Does anyone know the policy on sharing?

I also have a 1 year old and he has a severe milk allergey, so he won't be eating any ice cream. Does any one if they have any soy ice cream?????? I know this is stretching it, but the restaurants in WDW have been so accomadating with his food allergy I thought maybe there is a possibility......

Do you have a choice of toppings, or is it all based around chocolate? Also, from reading the magictrips.com link, my guess on sharing is that it's fine, but you'll be charged $5/person for anyone not getting their own sundae...entertainment fee!

I made our PS a couple of days ago and I actually asked the CM about my 2yo niece, and he said there would be no charge for her. Might not hurt to call and ask again though!!!
